Coyote Hill is a hybrid between traditional foster care and residential care in that the children live in families comprised of a married Home Parent couple. Each family is equipped with all of the support needed to help break the vicious cycle of abuse and neglect and instead, instill cycles of success by modeling healthy parental, marital, and community-enriching behaviors. Coyote Hill is the only licensed children’s home of its kind in central Missouri. You could be a part of giving foster children in Missouri a safe place to be a child.
The vision of Coyote Hill is to allow the children in our care to experience a fully functional family with all the supports of a residential agency which provides professional mental health services and other related services.
Coyote Hill views the Home Parent position as a domestic mission and expects home parents to have a missionary mindset. There are currently 4 homes (with a 5th home close to completion) on 200 acres in Harrisburg, Missouri. Each home can house up to 8 foster children (ages 3 to 18) and are co-ed with four boy and four girl beds. Over 80% of our population are sibling groups. Typically, Home Parents work six days on and one day off (which we call a "date night"). Every four weeks, Home Parents are provided a four-day block time off. These homes would probably run very similar to how a typical foster home would run except that both parents are stay at home parents. It is not uncommon for Home Parents to take their entire "family" on vacations; however, there is personal vacation time that Home Parents are encouraged to take.
Each home has a large Home Parent apartment for you. Your apartment has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room, kitchen (with all appliances), and storage space. All utilities are paid. Your home is provided with a monthly budget to purchase food/items, a recreational budget for activities, and use of two ministry vehicles. Some additional benefits include: 5% 403(b) retirement matching, dental/vision/supplemental coverage offered at a group rate, 2 weeks of vacation annually, 3 personal days, and cell phone expense reimbursement. Starting salary is $40,500. A $1000 bonus is given at three years and $3000 bonus is given at five years. We will consider applicants with pets.

Home Parents must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma. Some higher education and child care experience preferred. Home Parents must hold a valid driver’s license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record, be able to drive day or night, and be able to drive a van.
