Fernwood Resort is located on both sides of the Big Sur River in the Big Sur Valley under the redwood trees.  There is a motel, restaurant/bar, grocery store and campground.  We share a border with Pffeifer Big Sur State Park and you can access their hiking trails directly from the campground.  

We are hiring for full time grocery store clerks and reservationists for the motel and campground.  Housing is included.  Starting wage is $15.00 per hour plus housing.  We offer health insurance after two months, paid time off, employee discounts and employee deals at sister properties.  

Housing varies depending on what is available at the time.  We have tent cabins, studio cabins with kitchens and bathrooms, and one room apartments. 

We may also have an RV site with electric and water.  There is no sewer hook up for this, so you would either use the dump station or the bathhouse with the rest of the campers.  The condition and appearence of the RV is an important factor so as not to be a detriment to campground.

The mobilehome park is an all age park made up of partial resident owned homes. The park is well-maintained with 80 spaces, clubhouse, pool and laundry room.

Responsibilities:

• Live on-site in a Ranch-style home providing direct care at-risk boys or girls ages 6 to 18
• Provide a loving, Christian living environment in a home like setting with structure and stability
• Be a role model for the boys and girls in your care
• Provide educational support as needed
• Assist with spiritual and emotional development
• Plan, execute, and teach independent living skills such as meal preparation, chores, etc.
• Understand and abide by DHR Minimum Standards
• Maintain relationships with on-site director and social worker
• Prepare written records and paperwork in a timely manner
