Job Summary:
As a House Parent at the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches, you have the unique opportunity to help children from many different backgrounds find a place that they can truly call home. Our children come from all across the state of Alabama and range from ages 6 to 18. We ensure they have a loving, Christian environment and still have the opportunity to participate in normal everyday activities such as school, church activities, sports, clubs, music, etc.
Schedule: 24 x 7 (live in position)
Responsibilities:
- Live on-site in a Ranch-style home providing direct care at-risk boys or girls ages 6 to 18
- Provide a loving, Christian living environment in a home like setting with structure and stability
- Be a role model for the boys and girls in your care
- Provide educational support as needed
- Assist with spiritual and emotional development
- Plan, execute, and teach independent living skills such as meal preparation, chores, etc.
- Understand and abide by DHR Minimum Standards
- Maintain relationships with on-site director and social worker
- Prepare written records and paperwork in a timely manner

Required Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age or older
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Flexibility and willingness to work a wide array of hours, which includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays
