Salary Package and Benefits:
At Hawthorn Senior Living we have a very attractive salary package for our Assistant Manager teams. The salary package is broken down into the following categories:
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary starting at $50,000 to $60,000 per year to start (depending on the cost of living in the area where are placed) for our Assistant Management Team. However, each person will be paid their own individually portion of the aforementioned salary.
Accommodation:
As this is a live-in position, the accommodation provided is a one bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with washer and dryer in the unit. In addition to the apartment benefit, the Assistant Managers are also provided with all utilities paid including basic cable, unlimited parking, and as well as all meals included. In addition, we offer relocation assistance and encourage all applicants who are open to relocation, to apply.
Healthcare and Other Perks:
We offer a competitive salary and a benefit package that includes paid time off and the opportunity to elect healthcare, dental, vision, prescription plan and disability benefits; as well as life insurance, a 401k plan with company match (or RRSP in Canada) and an employee assistance program.
Schedule:
Our Assistant managers work five days per week with two consecutive days off and a rotating on-call shift. We also offer paid time off including holiday, vacation and sick time.
Training:
Complete, hands-on training is provided for Assistant Management Teams, however, previous experience in a similar role is an asset. People management experience is preferred. This position is designed as a training and development role and the hope is that our Assistant Management Teams will aspire to become Managers of their own Gracious Community within a short training period.

We allow well-behaved pets in our communities with no breed restrictions so you are more than welcomed to have your furry family members join you on this adventure.
Overall Job Purpose:
Our Assistant Managers will work hand in hand with the Community Managers as a team to ensure that we obtain and hold 100% resident happiness, 100% financial occupancy, 100% on budget, along with a 100% trained and motivated staff.
Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements:
· Be able to work as part of a team with the Managers and the Executive Chef to provide a great living environment for our residents and a safe and motivating work atmosphere for our staff.
· Support the Managers in the day-to-day operations of the Community.
· Willingness and ability to live on-site in an assigned apartment.
· Prior management experience including operational and financial experience in managing employees, customer service, purchasing, payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with residents and staff.
· Ability to keep all business, operational, and resident information confidential.

MHS is hiring married couples to become flex houseparents. Flex houseparents are couples who reside in on-campus student homes, guiding and nurturing a group of approximately 8-12 students. Flex houseparents provide a consistent family-like structure for students and handle responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, etc. When initially hired, flex houseparents cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.
Benefits
- Salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more

We are looking for a 2-Person Resident Security Team who would serve as live-in security for The Willows, a beautifully situated Senior Housing community in Bellingham. In exchange, you get FREE room and board and other wonderful benefits! Please see the details below.
WHAT IS OFFERED
We provide a one-bedroom apartment (~550 sq. ft.) where you and another individual would work on a part-time and on-call basis, trading off every three or four nights with another team to share the responsibilities listed below. Ideally, you would want to become an integral part of the community, offering caring customer service and a safe living environment in the evenings for your fellow residents.
Although this is not a paid position, all utilities are paid, for including free cable TV, Wi-Fi, and parking. You would also be provided free daily meals, weekly housekeeping, and full medical and dental benefits. What a screaming deal for a rather modest commitment!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide security for the building and residents during non-business hours, checking outside doors and ensuring residents are securely in their rooms for the night.
- Provide front desk coverage 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm to assist residents and visitors.
- Be able to respond to emergencies by assessing the situation and reacting accordingly.
- Prepare a self-serve coffee station for residents/staff, do a building check, deliver newspapers each morning before 7:00 am, and manage the front desk until the front desk concierge gets in at 8:00 am on weekdays, and at 9:00 am on weekends.
REQUIREMENTS
- This is a non-smoking Campus and previous vaccination for COVID is required.
- Both individuals will be willing to agree to a background check.
FAQ
Q: I don't have another individual to apply with me, Can I apply alone?
A: No. You will need another individual to apply as well and work with you in the community.
Q: Do I have to stay awake all night?
A: Absolutely not. You are only required to respond to emergencies after you have finished your rounds and desk coverage. You would be on-call overnight.
Q: How much of a time commitment is it?
A: One of you will make the rounds and the other will cover the front desk. The evening commitment is about 3 hours. It is a 3 nights on/4 nights off, 4 nights on/3 nights off rotation with the other security team.
Q: I have a beloved pet! Can they live with me?
A: Yes! Pets make our lives fuller (35lbs max size)
Q: Is this a paid position?
A: It is not, but remember: free room, board, utilities, medical and dental benefits, cable TV, Wi-Fi, parking, and weekly housecleaning.
Q: Is this an assisted living facility?
A: No, this retirement community is for folks who do not require medical assistance.
Q: Can I still work or keep my current job?
A: Yes, however, you will have to respond to emergencies and maintain your desk coverage 3-4 nights/week. Both team members must be on-site during their entire scheduled shift.

The ideal duo will bring a complementary skill set—one focused on household management, property oversight, and personal assistance, and the other on infant care, housekeeping, and cooking. This is a full-time, long-term position for candidates already based in the Montreal area.
Responsibilities
**House Manager / Personal Assistant Duties**
House Management and Maintenance
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the household
- Maintain an inventory of household supplies, groceries, and supplements; manage procurement as needed
- Run errands including grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, banking, and other personal tasks
- Prepare the household each morning (e.g., tea/coffee trays, light cleaning tasks)
- Serve drinks and light meals to family members as needed, providing attentive service
- Receive and open packages, handle returns and exchanges
- Perform light handyman duties including building baby gear, small furniture, etc.
- Take out garbage and recycling daily
