FEATURED JOB OPENING: Chef and Housekeeper Couple - Lovell, WY

Posted: 4/17/2025

Beautiful vacation lodge high up in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming seeking a dynamic duo! We are a somewhat small venue able to host between 30 and 40 guests at a time. Our main clientele are off-road riders, hikers, fisherman, hunters, snow-kiters, and snowmobilers. We are looking for a seasonal Kitchen/Lodge management couple to join our team. Our lodge is situated in a high alpine meadow 9,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by wildflowers, trout streams, moose, hiking trails and nearby waterfalls… a truly remote paradise with the nearest town of Lovell about a 45-minute drive away. Winters are accessible by tracked vehicles only. Snowmobile and/or tracked car provided by the lodge for off-mountain access. Couple must be comfortable operating wheeled and tracked vehicles independently after instruction.

The main duties of the couple are turning over rooms and cabins when the guests check out (doing laundry, making beds, cleaning bathrooms/toilets/floors/etc.), at a very upbeat pace. Keeping the common areas clean. This position is a managerial role and does entail managerial and administrative duties (i.e. taking reservations, checking in guests, answering phones, emails etc.) The couple should be used to working together. It is a remote job, you will be working and living with your significant other twenty-four hours a day 7 days a week. This is not a job for two people who just met each other.

At least one person(s) of the couple needs to be a chef, or at the very least someone who has menu planning, ordering through Sysco, and budgeting experience as well as the ability to cook upscale casual food for the guests. The couple must be familiar with dietary restrictions, and can handle all aspects of the kitchen including doing the dishes, and keeping the refrigeration organized. The couple must be SERV Safe certified or willing to obtain within 30 days of hiring. This is not a 9-5 job. It can require long days for months at time, followed by down times in the fall and spring seasons.

Above all else, we are looking for the couple to be friendly, hardworking, energetic, and customer service oriented. A couple who would enjoy living in a remote setting and happy to spend their time off together or solo. Previous experience in hospitality would be mandatory along with those who take pride in their work. The job does require being on your feet for most of the day, so applicants must be in good physical fitness. Due to the distance between our lodge and the nearest town, it is required that the couple has their own reliable vehicle for personal transportation. A company vehicle will be available for lodge errands

Salary is based on experience and includes an equal portion of gratuity divided among staff. Housing is also provided onsite in a large cabin with a private bathroom. All meals when we are serving guests are included. Laundry and Wi-Fi are included with housing. This position is seasonal with the option to return for winter and the following summer season with the option of having living quarters during the off season. This position would start May 15th or earlier.

List of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Preparing Breakfast and Dinner (standard time for breakfast 5:30am to 9:30am & standard time for dinner 4:00pm to 7:30pm
  • Preparing sandwiches for lunch in the morning (time allotment of approximately 45 minutes during the breakfast prep time)
  • Preparing separate specialty meals for the owners based on dietary preferences
  • Ordering food ingredients and keeping food storage organized
  • Keeping common areas clean and orderly (wiping down tables in the lodge, vacuuming & mopping the floors, restocking necessities, etc.)
  • Keeping communal bathhouse clean and orderly
  • Checking-in and Checking-out guests
  • Taking reservations and providing information via phone/email
  • Keep rotating shifts of running the front desk throughout the day
  • Cleaning rooms/cabins (deep cleaning bathrooms, disinfecting common spaces, vacuuming/mopping floors, etc.)
  • Doing laundry, folding/arranging towels, and making beds in rooms/cabins
