FEATURED JOB OPENING: Caretaker Couple - Comins, MI

Caretaker Couple Wanted: We are a private, family-oriented hunting and fishing club located in a quiet, rural setting near Comins, Michigan. The property consists of 1,500 diverse, forested acres with three springfed lakes and creeks that run throughout. The club is looking for a motivated Manager/Caretaker couple team to fill two positions and live onsite.
Job description: The property is comprised of a main lodge, three cabins for member’s usage, several out buildings, and a caretaker’s home. One of the available position’s duties include building and equipment maintenance, grounds keeping, light construction, wildlife crop farming, security, snow removal, and other general duties typical for this type of property.
This position requires one to be physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather and on uneven terrain. Candidates must be able to safely operate a tractor, snowplow truck and other equipment including power and hand tools.
The second caretaker position’s duties include guest meal planning, food purchase, food preparation, serving meals to members and guests, as well as the cleaning and upkeep of the lodge and cabins. Candidates must be flexible with work schedules as these are not typical 8-5 jobs and the heaviest club usage is on weekends.
The Ideal Candidates: This caretaker team will have experience in similar situations in working or managing a rural property/club. They must be able to work in unsupervised situations and be able to complete work in a timely manner. The team should have experience operating and maintaining a tractor, plow truck and other equipment, as well as “handyman” and general carpentry skills. Wildlife management and farming experience is a plus. Additionally, the team will have experience cooking for groups as well as general housekeeping skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills are very important.
These two positions are complete with salary, housing, utilities and other benefits. This is a long-term opportunity for a stable person(s)/couple. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and be drug free. A thorough background check and drug test(s) will be conducted for pre-employment analysis. Candidates must provide professional references in order to qualify for this job.
Campground Maintanence Volunteer - Port St. Joe, FL

We are looking for Maintenance Resident Volunteers to aid park staff in the maintenance of the park, facilities, and other maintenance related projects. Projects include but are not limited to: painting, boardwalk construction, roofing, electrical repair, and equipment maintenance. In return, resident/maintenance volunteers get a campsite at no charge and the satisfaction of performing an important and much-needed job.
We are located on the Gulf of Mexico across the bay from Port St. Joe, where visitors can swim and play in the sun on 9.5 miles of snow-white sand beaches lapped by clear, aqua-blue waters. The park is rated as one of the best state parks in the U.S. and one of the best beaches in the nation. Fishing, snorkeling, and hiking are great ways to enjoy and observe the park’s wildlife and natural beauty. Noted as an excellent birding and wildlife observation area, the park has one of the most productive sea turtle and shore bird nest beaches in the panhandle.
•Position is 20 hours/week, 3 months
•Site has water & 30 amp electric hook ups, no sewer. Can accommodate up to 38’ rig.

- Prepares and inputs remote timesheets and payroll-related information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Survey and understand market conditions and competition.
- Develop and implement marketing plan.
- Reviews renewals and prepares budget increase recommendations according to operating budget and market conditions.
- Prepares and follows guidelines of community operating budget, and makes recommendations for ways to maximize income and minimize expenses.
- Performs variety of duties associated with leasing/marketing and community functions.
- Supports overall marketing efforts and offers input and suggestions in regards to promotions, advertisements, etc.
- Analyzes and monitors community market conditions to anticipate market changes or trends that could affect the profitability of the community.
- Monitors closing rations of leasing associates to ensure requirements are met and provides additional training as necessary.
- Supervises the planning and implementation of, and attends and monitors, various community recreational and social activities.
- Ensures staff is implementing resident retention and renewal programs.
- Supervises and ensures collection of all rent and other Resort income.
- Inspects Resort common areas, models and vacant units on a regular basis and completes the community inspection report.
- Reviews and approves or rejects resident applications.
- Understands and complies with state landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing laws and standards.
- Performs variety of duties associated with maintenance and related programs.
- Monitors maintenance activities to ensure resident requests and preventative maintenance programs are being performed according to company standards.
- Makes recommendations and oversees the editing of the community newsletter.
- Becomes active in local business community and develops rapport with residential community.
- Attends and participates in training seminars as requested.
- Ensures all on-site staff has enrolled in and completed necessary courses.
- Transports residents and/or prospective residents via motorized vehicle throughout Resort grounds; runs errands as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

WorkCamper Position - Mears, MI
