Caretakers or Working Campers in Canyon Country - Escalante, UT

Bed & Breakfast needing caretakers in August or Wintertime, housing may be provided when we are gone.  Or, year-round, we have RV Hook-ups on our extra lot.  We welcome short-term Work Campers (up to one month) in the heart of Canyon Country, Grand Staircase Escalante Monument, between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks.  Awesome location for those who would like to stay in the “American Outback” long enough to really explore the slot canyons, Indian ruins, national parks, etc. 

We provide breakfast on slower days and a full RV hook-up on our extra lot, plus a bathroom & laundry room,  in exchange for 2 hours a day per person (Couples preferred, for Housekeeping & Landscaping or handyman work). Days off okay.  Additional paid hours and additional months may be available for those with skills.  

No smokers. No partiers. Positive attitude, clean appearance and clean living habits only!  Sorry, we don’t need hospitality help.  

ABOUT ESCALANTE:  Population 750.  Elevation 5,820. Spring & Fall are lovely.  The landscape is amazing. Summers are in the 90’s with dry heat or thunderstorms. Winters are chilly but mostly sunny.  In the event of approaching storms, we are only 3 hours from St. George sunshine!    Be prepared to get dehydrated and sunburnt quickly in the high desert.  Freezing conditions and snow possible in the winter.

We are seeking a long term, live in innkeeper couple to manage our historic 23 room inn in Staunton, Virginia in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

 You will be responsible for managing all aspects of day to day operations, which include, but are not limited to: Guest relations (inquiries, reservations, checkins/out, etc), managing housekeeping and breakfast staff, cooking breakfast (all precooked meals from a set menu), minor repairs and maintenance, keeping track of supplies, participating in annual downtown events, etc. Compensation includes a one bedroom apartment with all utilities paid, plus salary with paid vacation. Dedicated farming couple needed on a WV farm - Parkersburg, WV

  Looking for a couple that would be interested to work and live on a 65 acre farm.  The farm work includes:  care for animals including alpacas, chickens, a few cattle and sheep.  The farm is primarily an alpaca farm. 

The land is beautiful and its upkeep is essential but not difficult--maily lawn care and landscaping.  Every year a garden is planted with herbs and vegetables.  Its products are not sold but shared amongst all who live on the farm.  The owners of the farm live on the farm in the main house and there is a beautiful restored cabin with kitchen, living room, loft, bathroom that will be the couples living quarters.  The cabin, all utilities, satellite, health insurance, salary, and farm truck are made available to the couple.  The family owners of the farm treat their employees with respect and kindness.  the most improtant rule on the farm is SAFETY FIRST. 

FEATURED JOB OPENING: Caretaker Couple - Horse/Hay Operation - Rocky View County, AB

We're looking for a talented couple that can care for a dozen horses while maintaining the farm.  Owners are out of the country for extended periods of time and are in need of a dedicated team that strives for excellence in horse care while maintaining the farm with great pride.  

The couple that we are looking for needs to have experience caring for horses along with being able to operate various types of farm equipment including tractors, haybine, stackliner, baler, skid steer, mowers, etc.  One or both members of the couple would need to have the knowledge to do basic equipment maintenance such as changing air filters, changing oil and general care of machinery.  Positions would be year-round with the busiest time being the summer months.  Year round care is to be provided to the horses; lawns mowed, weeding, tree trimming, painting and like tasks would be added to the list of things to do in the summer.  The 1/4 section farm has its field in hay production and so July (more or less) is also haying season.  Once the hay was in the shed, the couple would then be responsible for selling the hay to the customers that come to the farm to pick up...no deliveries are made.  Winters are a bit quieter but there are still things to do such as keeping the driveway plowed, doing daily walkthrough of all farm buildings to ensure that mechanicals are operating smoothly and dealing with our very unpredictable weather.

Along with a salary, commensurate with the couple's experience, Alberta Blue Cross and WCB, a three bedroom mobile home would be provided to live in.  All utilities, satellite t.v. and internet would be included.  While a couple is being sought to fill the positions, given that the farm is situated close to schools and community association, a family would be welcome.
