The Direct Child Care Workers (i.e. Houseparent) are the “front line” people of our organization.  They have the general responsibility of nurturing the children in their cottage in a manner very similar to that in which they would nurture their own natural children.  It is obvious that each Direct Child Care Worker /Houseparent will have a vested interest in every aspect of the lives of each child in their cottage and would be expected to have a certain degree of responsibility with regard to every phase of those children’s lives at Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes.

• Observe all state license policies and procedures as well as Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes (GSYH) rules, guidelines, policies and procedure established during your employment.
• Fulfill the role of mentor by providing understanding and care to children, listening to their problems, and providing guidance to them.
• Administer medication as prescribed by doctor and document.
• Children must be supervised at all times.  Safety and supervision of the youth in your care is of the upmost importance.
• Assist in keeping costs down on consumption and use of food, supplies and gas.
• Establish a cottage routine. 
• Supervise and check daily household and bedroom chores.  Inspect cottage daily or as needed.
• Prepare three well balanced meals daily for the children. 
• Maintain a neat and tidy environment at all times (inside and outside the cottage).
• Ensure campus, buildings and cottages are neat, clean, and desirable for guest and visitors.
• Observe each child for deficiencies in personal hygiene and take measure to correct those deficiencies. 
• See that children bathe, brush teeth, shampoo hair and apply deodorant daily.  You must assist and instruct as needed.
• See that children are appropriately dressed for each day’s activities. 
• Teach children appropriate etiquette and manners in the presence of adults, guest, and visitors as well as with each other.
• Teach children proper table manners.  Encourage and enforce their use.
• Be a positive role model for residents.
• Maintain an open line of communication with each child. 
• Maintain an awareness of each child’s emotional status by observing their moods, relationships to peers, contacts with family, and behavior at school, etc.   
• Assist in planning and providing acceptable social activities for children.
• Be responsible for the direct supervision of children and the facility in a manner which creates a family-oriented environment.
• Perform tasks and duties as assigned by Resident Director (RD) or appointee.
• Assist as instructed by RD in campus activities, fund raising and events set up and clean up.
• Perform any other duties either directly or indirectly related to the child care operation and management as assigned by the RD or appointee.
• Attend and complete training requirements for this position and apply what has been learned to the workplace.

Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Must complete drug screen, criminal record check (local check provide by applicants), and finger print check (must be completed in GA).

Must possess a valid drivers license

Must be at 25 years of age

Camp Hosts - Carthage, MO

We are an award winning campground located just outside of Joplin, Missouri is currently seeking couples for Camp Host positions. 

We need two couples to fill openings for the 2019 season, running from April 1st to October 1st.  We would really be interested in couples wanting to learn the campground and return year after year.  There is also the opportunity to advance into the management position.

Coachlight is an eighty site campground without pool or public restrooms/shower house.  RV parking only, no tent camping.  One half of each team will be responsible for the office duties to include reservations, check-ins, cleaning of the laundry, office and rally rooms; while the other half will handle the parking and yard maintenance, to include mowing, weed-eating, and other general grounds keeping.

Couples will work a three to four day week and be compensated with a full hook-up site, free use of the laundry, free propane, and a salary.  Hook-ups include 60 cable TV channels and WI-FI.

Looking for a Work Camping Couple for the 2019 Season - Anderson, IN

We are looking for a work kamping couple to join our team for the 2019 season in Anderson, Indiana.

Your position will start May 1 and end September 30, 2019.  The position will have you working 12 hours per week together, on a rotating schedule along with 3 other couples. This schedule will give you plenty of time to explore the area and visit with family and friends.   Your duties will consist of guest registration, phone reservations, camp store sales, escorting campers to their sites, delivering firewood, filling propane, garbage pickup and light landscaping and security. Computer skills are required and we are happy to train the right couple.  We are a family run business that live and work on property.

Compensation will consist of a full hookup site, up to $100 per month for electric and propane, free wifi, uniform shirts and miscellaneous perks.

We are nestled in a valley on 80 acres with plenty of room to rest and relax. We have one mile of frontage on the White River and 2 ponds and 1 lake on the property.

We are quiet and within minutes from the interstate and city with all it has be offer, a casino, horse track, shopping and dining. 

Houseparent Couple for Girls House - Nashville, IN

We are an emerging children's home campus for at-risk children in Indiana, located on 100 acres in the beautiful hills of Brown County. We are seeking married husband and wife couples with missionary hearts to be full-time houseparents.

We are a nurturing, educational campus community where children live and receive love, guidance, and academic instruction in a family-like, Christian environment, to the glory of God. We are a 501 (c)(3) ministry and receives no court placements and no government funds, as we are completely supported through the generosity of charitable donations. The main responsibility of houseparents is to provide care, nurturing, and structure for up to eight children, with the goal of helping the kids feel loved and be fully equipped to fulfill God's wonderful purpose for their lives. Houseparents will also serve the ministry in secondary capacities as needed. 

Motel Manager(s) - Sanderson, TX

Summary:

We are seeking to fill the position of Motel Manager(s). The job requires the employee to check in/out guests, support guests if a need arises, manage the cleaners. Some computer work and minor bookkeeping.
 

Description of the Position:
This is a small 16 unit motel built in 1960. The motel is under new ownership, and the property and grounds will renovated and improved over the next 12 months.  The motel will remain in operation during this time.

The position requires that the employee lives onsite and is available 24hrs a day to provide excellent customer service to our guests.  The manager will be given 2 days off during the week. A part time manager will fill in during the days off and is available as needed if the employee requires additional personal time off.  There is an apartment on the premises that the employee can live in, free of charge. Utilities are also covered. While the position does require that the person be available 24hrs a day, the actual schedule for the employee during the day is very flexible.  

An ideal candidate is someone that is friendly, enjoy's west TX, and small town communities.  A college education is desired, but not required. Excellent customer service is an absolute must.

The employee will be responsible for the general operations of the motel.  This includes scheduling and paying the cleaners, performing minor general maintenance, and managing guest reservations and guest needs.

Job Duties:

• Provide guests with a high level of customer service.

• Take reservations from guests calling the motel or walking in

• Process guest payments and check guests in

• Schedule cleaners for rooms

• Inspect rooms for cleanliness after cleaners are completed

• Minor maintenance as needed (ex. Changing shower head, etc)

• Ensure the motel grounds are well kept

Skill Set Needed:

• Excellent communication skills

• Basic computer skills (web based reservation software, Excel, Word, Email)

• Ability to perform basic maintenance duties

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $20,000-$25,000

• Apartment and Utilities are paid and provided by the motel

• Bonuses: 15% of room revenue for occupancy above 40%

• Additional project based work is available at the motel if the individual is skilled and capable of performing the work. For example, portions of the renovation work if performed would result in additional pay.

Domestic Couple - Roxbury, CT

Lookig for an experienced couple with excellent checkable references.

Must have had experience working in either Connecticut or New York area and have driven in New York City. Both must drive.

Duties include-meticulous house cleaning, indoor and out door maintenence, able to cook good family meals and experienced in formal serving.

The couple will at times be required to work at the families New York City Apartment when needed.

In Connecticut you will be provided with your own house on the propeerty and your own apartment, (within close commuting distance) when working in New York City.
