Innkeepers Needed for Retro Motel in Texas Wine Country - Stonewall, TX

Newly renovated, small, boutique motel in the charming Texas Wine and Hill Country is seeking a couple to be a key part of our team. Did you know Texas has a Wine and Hill country that is being called the "New Napa Valley"? With over 50 established wineries in the charming Hill Country located about 45 min north of San Antonio and west of Austin, the area is exploding as one of the main tourist destinations in Texas (and also a sought after place to live in general). We are opening a newly renovated motel in this area and are looking for a talented couple to manage the day to day operations.

The motel sits on 3 acres in Stonewall, TX, which sits in the middle of what has become known as the Hwy 290 Wine Trail. Built in 1963, it's a classic L shaped motel with 12 rooms and 4 RV spots. We will also be adding 5 cabins later this year after a full renovation on the motel.

We are searching for an outgoing, responsible, experienced, and versatile couple to manage the day to day operations, which include housekeeping, maintenance, and guest check in and needs resolution as needed. This is a hands on position requiring you to do what it takes to make the hotel successful - cleaning, maintenance, guest service and interation, etc. You will be able to hire part time help to assist with coverage, but you are the go to team. We expect to leverage technology as much as possible with self checkin and online booking, but you'll have some guest checkin activities. You'll be responsible for maintaining and cleaning the grounds as well as the public areas. As the General Partner of the Motel, you will work closely with us on recommended pricing, marketing recommendations, social media and other needs as you'll be located in the area full time (we are located in San Antonio). Candidates must share our high standards for cleaning and maintaining a high guest service level. Our ideal candidates have strong experience in various areas managing a small motel or B&B, are tech savvy, detail oriented and non-smokers. We strongly prefer candidates with no pets.

We are looking for a start date around the end of March into early April, but could be sooner depending on the renovation.

An onsite apartment with all utilities paid in addition to a salary.

Live-In Domestic Couple - New York, NY

Prominent Upper East Side couple seeks an experienced, highly organized, and thorough Domestic Couple to oversee and maintain full-time care of their primary residence in New York City. This position is a Live-In, full time, 5 day work week with overriding flexibility to working long hours as needed upon request. Private accommodations with a private bedroom and bathroom will be provided. The couple will be required to Live Out on days off. This position will require to support the Domestic Couple in the couple’s secondary residence in Connecticut and Upstate New York. The selected couple will have experience working in a formal home with the accompanying formal service including food and beverage. The expectations for quality service and efficiency are high and professional etiquette and discretion are of the utmost importance. The couple will assist with all aspects of daily cleaning, cooking, management, upkeep and all-around supervision of the residence.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing and providing full-time care of the family’s residence
Museum quality cleaning and care for antiques, fine art throughout the home with attention to special surfaces and finishes
Full laundry duties including washing, ironing, steaming, closet organization, etc. with attention
Light cooking required as needed upon request
Providing formal service at all times where and professional etiquette and discretion are of the utmost importance
Personal shopping, running errands, stock procurement and special requests, etc.
Heavy organization throughout the home including pantries, kitchen, closets, etc.
Ability to work in tandem with vendors, contractors, other domestic staff
Maintaining residence for guest readiness at all times
Driving the principals to and from various destinations
Any and all other duties or requests related to the needs of the principals and household

Requirements:

Strong command of English language and communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
Minimum 5 - 10+ years related experience working in a private formal home in similar role(s)
Strong housekeeping skills throughout the residence including bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas
Experience with museum quality cleaning and care for: antiques, silver, fine art, etc.
Strong laundry abilities including ironing, steaming, closet organization and maintenance, etc.
Strong property management skills including maintenance, handyman/houseman skills
Ability to perform formal food and beverage service REQUIRED
Basic family style cooking (breakfast & lunch on occasions)
MUST have experience working in a formal household with silver service experience
Exceptional organization skills and multitask management
Professional mindset and manor; constant use of discretion and confidentiality a MUST
Must be comfortable working around cats
