Newly renovated, small, boutique motel in the charming Texas Wine and Hill Country is seeking a couple to be a key part of our team. Did you know Texas has a Wine and Hill country that is being called the "New Napa Valley"? With over 50 established wineries in the charming Hill Country located about 45 min north of San Antonio and west of Austin, the area is exploding as one of the main tourist destinations in Texas (and also a sought after place to live in general). We are opening a newly renovated motel in this area and are looking for a talented couple to manage the day to day operations.
The motel sits on 3 acres in Stonewall, TX, which sits in the middle of what has become known as the Hwy 290 Wine Trail (we are about 10 min away from the charming hub of the area, Fredericksburg). Built in 1963, it's a classic L shaped motel with 12 rooms and 4 RV spots. We will also be adding 5 cabins later this year after a full renovation on the motel.
We are searching for an outgoing, responsible, experienced, and versatile couple to manage the day to day operations, which include housekeeping, maintenance, and guest check in and needs resolution as needed. This is a hands on position requiring you to do what it takes to make the hotel successful - cleaning, maintenance, guest service and interation, etc. You will be able to hire part time help to assist with coverage, but you are the go to team. We expect to leverage technology as much as possible with self checkin and online booking, but you'll have some guest checkin activities. You'll be responsible for maintaining and cleaning the grounds as well as the public areas and handling any minor repair issues. As the General Partner of the Motel, you will work closely with us on recommended pricing, marketing recommendations, social media and other needs as you'll be located in the area full time (we are located in San Antonio). Candidates must share our high standards for cleaning and maintaining a high guest service level. Our ideal candidates have strong experience in various areas managing a small motel or B&B, are tech savvy, detail oriented and non-smokers. We strongly prefer candidates with no pets.
We are looking for a start date around the end of March into early April, but could be sooner depending on the renovation.
An onsite renovated apartment with all utilities paid in addition to a salary.

Compensation package for this position consists of an onsite managers unit which is a second floor, one bedroom unfurnished apartment with an excellent view. Also, wood stove washer and dryer, CableTV, high speed internet, water, electricity, propane, trash are provided along with $3,000.00 per month salary.
A relief clerk is in place to cover days off.
Experience required with references.
Familiarity with computer reservations required for both members of the team.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sales, marketing, occupancy, and delinquency management of the facility.
- Provides outstanding customer service including assessing and resolving customer problems and professionally handling telephone and walk-in inquiries.
- Shows, rents and cleans self-storage units as well as actively selling and maintaining supplies of moving and packing materials.
- General management of the office including but not limited to opening and closing the office on time each day, keeping and balancing petty cash, making daily bank deposits and preparing reports as required by management.
- Keeping the facility rented at optimum levels by effectively utilizing advertising, promotional and customer relation skills as approved by management.
- Maintains all required tenant documentation in a neat and orderly manner as directed by management.
- Controls delinquencies through telephone contact and letters on a scheduled basis.
- Cleans space(s) as vacated, hallways, and grounds as needed. Clean office and restrooms daily.
- Maintains a neat, clean, safe and secure facility including minor maintenance and daily lock checks as well as visual inspection daily.
- Assist in preparing units for auction as prescribed by law, and approved by management.
- Effectively communicates with management and fellow associates.
- Other functional duties as assigned.
Work Skills
- Basic Computer Skills are required
- Good organizational skills a plus
Experience & Qualifications
- Prior self-storage experience preferred
- Customer service, retail sales, marketing experience preferred
- General office and telephone skills are preferred
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation are required in order to perform essential functions of this job
- Weekend availability is required
- Bi-lingual is strongly preferred
