Ministry Position as a House Parent Couple with Fabulous Flex Time Benefit - Fort Myers, FL

We are looking for a dynamic couple seeking to serve in a growing faith based ministry with Developmentally Challenged Adults!  We are residential group homes that provide training and support to adults with minimal - moderate level developmental disabilities.  Each newly built home has a maximum of six adults. Protected Harbor's mission is to provide our residents with opportunities to learn, grow, experience and achieve a fulfilling life as they learn to serve others!  

Position Available

House Parent staff oversees the day-to-day activities of the home, trains and transports residents, has health care responsibilities and assists with home operations. This is a “live-in” position, with a package that includes a competitive salary, a separate efficiency apartment adjoining the facility with utilities, internet, cable included. The schedule is seven day, 24 hours shifts on duty followed by being off for seven days. Please note you are working an actual six months out of the year. Couples are allowed to live in the apartment while off duty if they choose to. An added bonus is scheduling flexibility and even longer periods off at a time possible with each staff couple actually working half the year.  

Position Summary

House Parent couples are employees hired to oversee the day-to-day activities of the group home to promote the maximum growth of it's residents intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and vocationally.

Staff guide and train residents in personal hygiene and grooming, caring for their home, individual and group behavior, meal preparation, and other similar life skills.  Health/Mental/Dental care responsibilities, the management of medications, transportation and supporting the residents in their volunteer jobs and various activities are also key components required of the House Parent couple.

Spiritual Qualifications

• Mature Christians with personal integrity, character and reputation and willing to model Christian values and lifestyle to the residents.
• A desire to seek and serve God and His kingdom.
• A willingness to encourage residents to grow spiritually through devotions, prayer at meals, Harbor Life Group participation and regular church attendance.

Education, Experience and Skills Required

• High school diploma or higher degree.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must hold a current valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
• One year experience providing direct services with persons who have a developmental disability, child care setting, medical, psychiatric, or nursing; or at least 120 hours of direct services to recipients with complex behavior problems. 
• Must possess good communication skills and professional manner when relating to staff, residents, vendors and families.
• Ability to manage time, set priorities and to organize and follow structured routines.
• Must demonstrate exceptional problem solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in partnership with others in a team approach.

Physical Requirements

• Must be in good physical, mental and emotional health and able to assist residents as needed. 
• Able to bend, reach, lift, drive, use cleaning supplies, and assist with yard maintenance. 

General Qualifications

• Have no children at home or pets.
• Meet all of the employment qualifications and pass all background screenings. This includes criminal and drug screenings.
• Conditional of successful completion of all initial training requirements and annual training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Follow guidelines and procedures concerning supervised medication management to residents.
• Train and supervise residents in proper bedroom and bathroom maintenance, room/closet organization, laundry procedures and cleaning home.
• Assure proper training for residents, this may include: getting along with others, selected life skill goals, fire drills, and health and safety training.
• Conduct and document training of residents.  Write reports and submit as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and records.
• Assist and encourage resident’s in reading, participating in and adhering to their weekly schedule.  This includes classes, scheduled activities and home tasks.
• Assure that residents follow a daily hygiene and grooming routine and provide assistance and training as needed. Redirect and assist residents if not properly clean or dressed.
• As needed supervise residents during special activities, group gatherings, and off campus outings.
• Listen to residents who may need to express an opinion or concern and make referral to Manager when appropriate.
• Communicate with staff regarding resident’s needs.

Camphosts, and Resort Attendants - Winter Harbour, BC

We are looking for a work-camping couple for the 2019 summer season.

Responsibilities may include

• Fuel dock operation
• Marina cleaning/maintenance

Applicants must be able to provide your own RV accommodations.

Mature Couple to help operate and maintain Ghost Town attractions in a one time boom town - Chloride, Sierra County, NM

The job consists of helping to operate a History Museum and a Giftshop and Gallery, and to help maintain the entire Town site. The specific tasks include clearing the street of trash on a daily basis, mowing the road sides as necessary. Maintaining several 1880s buildings including the Pioneer Store Museum, The Monte Cristo Gift shop and Gallery, three 1880 era cabins and a 5 space Rec Vehicle park, also to help maintain a small Rest Area with picnic sites and Rest Rooms. 

Housing will be supplied in an 1880s restored  house with utilities paid, and a stipend will be negotiated. We would like the right couple to consider this a permanent location. 

Chloride is located in the western part of Sierra County, New Mexico, and is 1.5 miles from the fabulous Gila National Forest. Even though we are 40 miles from a town, we have become a popular tourist attraction.

Work Camper Couple - Ridgway/Ouray/Telluride, CO

Boutique Glampground in Ridgway, CO with glamping tents, tiny homes and RV campsites and are needing a working couple for the Summer Season (May - September) with potential for year-round help. We are seeking friendly and energetic working couples to assist with the daily operations around camp.

What we're looking for: Couples that can multi-task and learn quickly, bring a positive work ethic, and can offer excellent customer service to all guests.

What we're offering: a full hook-up RV site plus $50/month credit towards electric; the opportunity to live (for the summer)  at the gateway to the San Juan Mountains with front row views of Mount Sneffels: hiking, climbing, mountain biking, off-roading, and more. We're less than an hour from Telluride and Silverton.

Person 1 will complete housekeeping tasks of glamping tents,  tiny homes and bath house, assist customer service desk by making reservations using our online booking software; checking in guests; processing payments, light cleaning of the clubhouse and front desk; offering guests first class customer service, including troubleshooting; and communicating with other staff and the owners about daily operations and happenings. Must have strong computer skills, phone skills, and enjoy customer service.

Person 2 will rake and clean up sites and fire pits after guests leave; escort guests to their sites; empty trash barrels throughout the campground; perform light maintenance on equipment and facilities; maintain the grounds, assisting with mowing, weeding, branch and leaf pick up, and make recycling runs. Must be physically capable of these duties, and have a positive approach to working with guests.

The ideal couple will be available and willing to work between 28-40 hours. Couples will work the same shifts and have the same days off. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. We are looking for at least one couple to begin May 15 or sooner and continue on until the end of September.  You must have another form of income or retirement. This is not a job you will get rich off of. Previous campground experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Having a warm hospitality mindset is a must.

Maintenance and Grounds Couple - Estes Park, CO

We are looking for a couple who can take care of the maintenance, grounds/gardens (including projects) and cleaning at our treatment center for teens near Rocky Mountain National Park. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds including:

• Performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Performs all items on a schedule and “due date” basis to ensure quick project completion. Keeps an updated “To Do List”.

• Cleans tidies and keeps the facility looking welcoming and beautiful for our stressed clients

• Maintains health and safety standards required by the program, county, state and accrediting bodies.

• Carpentry: Performs basic rough and finished carpentry repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture, roofs, and shelves.

• Glazier: Removes broken glass, putty or plastic; replaces windows and door hardware; replaces glass for windows, doors, and light fixtures.

• Electrical: Performs basic electrical repair work for switches, outlets, plugs, cables, appliances, and lighting systems; reports unsafe electrical conditions.

• Plumbing: Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces, seals and other minor parts; repairs, replaces and maintains hot water heaters and other appliances.

• Painting: applies and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain; removes or paints over graffiti; repairs wall coverings.

• Grounds Maintenance: Maintains grounds in clean, safe, and orderly manner including mowing, trimming, weeding, aerating, minor pest management, composting and fertilizing lawns; replaces plants as needed; sets sprinklers; adjusts automatic time clocks and system pressure if necessary; cleans debris from grounds, pathways, and parking lots; maintains grounds maintenance equipment; prunes trees and shrubs. performs snow removal, salting, shoveling, and clearing of any hazard at all doors, walkways, driveways and parking areas. Cares for house plants, outdoor gardens, trees, and flowers.

• Fences: building, repairing, maintaining.

• Masonry: Lays forms, mixes, pours, finishes, and repairs concrete for sidewalks, pavers, ramps, and slabs.
