The job consists of helping to operate a History Museum and a Giftshop and Gallery, and to help maintain the entire Town site. The specific tasks include clearing the street of trash on a daily basis, mowing the road sides as necessary. Maintaining several 1880s buildings including the Pioneer Store Museum, The Monte Cristo Gift shop and Gallery, three 1880 era cabins and a 5 space Rec Vehicle park, also to help maintain a small Rest Area with picnic sites and Rest Rooms.
Housing will be supplied in an 1880s restored house with utilities paid, and a stipend will be negotiated. We would like the right couple to consider this a permanent location.
Chloride is located in the western part of Sierra County, New Mexico, and is 1.5 miles from the fabulous Gila National Forest. Even though we are 40 miles from a town, we have become a popular tourist attraction.
