Resident Caretaker required for a professionally?-managed 14 level, 90 unit condo building with a swimming pool, sauna, tennis court, gym and more!  Located in the heart of Kitsilano, 2 blocks from Kits Beach and West 4^th, and close to all amenities. We are an adult-oriented building (residents must be 19+), with no pets and restricted rentals (including no “Airbnb” rentals). This is a great opportunity for an experienced caretaker!

 Who You Are

A highly accomplished caretaker with 5+ years’ experience. You are friendly and outgoing with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You don’t mind getting your hands dirty to clean and maintain your building. Emergency preparedness skills and experience would be an asset. Working couples preferred.

You are able to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and record keeping experience required. A general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems desirable. You must have a valid BC Driver’s license and be ableto complete and obtain a clear Criminal Record Checkannually. A solid command of the English language is required, along with the ability to complete the following:

·         Ensure the Property maintains a high standard of professionalism and cleanliness

·         Routine duties include vacuuming, dry/wet cleaning, elevator detailing, stairway

          cleaning, lighting replacement, mechanical equipment monitoring, etc.

·         Site security patrol, system programming and monitoring

·         General maintenance and minor repairs.

·         Pool maintenance, record keeping and treatment

·         Light gardening maintenance

·         Record keeping and administration

·         Weekly meetings with the Strata Manager and/or President

·         Assisting trades & coordinating access to the building

·         Dealing tactfully with owners, trades and the public

·         Other duties as may be required or assigned by the Property Manager

Currently, Release Inc is seeking House Parents to live in and provide trauma-informed parenting to residents, oversee the residential home, and provide day-to-day programming, treatment, and guidance for residents.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operation of the house
• Mentor residents
• Teach life skills and model healthy family relationships
• Intentionally develop positive relationships with residents
• Interview prospective residents
• Assist residents in their pursuit of educational and vocational goals
• Maintain house finances, including balancing the budget and billing for residents
• Participate in weekly staffing meetings with the residential team
• Communicate with caseworkers, teachers, probation officers and/or therapists to coordinate the schedule and treatment of each resident
• Plan and implement programming opportunities for residents, both in the home and in the community
• Administer medication to residents as prescribed
• Assisting in crisis intervention and de-escalation
• Assisting in the development and implementation of residents’ individualized treatment plans
• Other tasks as assigned

Management Couple for Eco-Hostel at the beach - Las Peñitas, Leon Nicaragua

Eco-Hostel at the beach in a small fishing village in Nicaragua is looking for a management couple to manage the hostel, starting August 2020 for about 8-9 months (possibly longer for the right persons). You would be running the daily operations of the hostel together, including:

- managing the booking systems and reservations

- managing the local 100% Nica staff and international team of volunteers

- being responsible and keeping track of cashflow and transactions

- ensure optimal quality of service and a great experience for every guest that steps through our doors

- help develop and grow the hostel in all aspects 

Requirements for this position: perfect command of both English and Spanish for both, previous hostel or hotel management experience, hospitality experience, willingness to work hard and go the extra mile (it can get busy sometimes), good dose of common sense and basic life skills, respect and understanding of the local culture and politics, great references.

It's a plus if one of you is a yoga instructor, surf instructor, or massage therapist. 

Included in the position are management wages, housing in the management room (with bathroom) and three meals a day. Your would work out your own schedule and have the possibility of taking days off. There is a surf break right in front of the hostel, great fishing options, and when in season baby turtles to observe and help release. There is WiFi, a restaurant kitchen you can use and a nice local community to become a part off.
