Ranch and Retreat Caretakers - Tucson, AZ

10 Acre ranch and healing retreat looking immediately for a mature couple that has farm animal care, carpentry, housekeeping, cooking, gardening and landscaping experience. Electrical, swamp cooler, plumbing, horse training, farrier type experience helpful. Basically need one person inside the home cleaning and cooking for owners and self and assisting with breakfast for people staying in bed and breakfast. Any extra time would be used with gardening and upkeep of outside areas around the house. Need 2nd person for help with farm animals (horses, chickens, goats, and dogs) building maintenance upkeep, landscaping, etc. 20 hours per person in exchange for R.V. site or 2 room apt. in main house. R.Vers will receive full hook-up which includes water, sewer, and electric. Will need your own phone and satellite t.v. if needed. We will supply wi-fi on the grounds but you may need to be at the pool area in order to receive it. Apt. will be at no charge and cooking facilities and refrigerator will be available to you. When there are no guests you may use the pool, workshop, barbque and ride horses at no charge. We will supply meals during work time either you will cook it or we will depending. Anything over 20 hours per person will be compensated with stipend at $10 per hour. Days off will vary depending upon guests and work load for the week. Couple may be any combination of two people able to live and work harmoniously on a healing ranch retreat. No drama, no drugs, no drinking during work hours, no partying or extreme behaviors allowed. You can and will be discharged and removed from the grounds immediately for any unacceptable behavior. This is a caretaking position in exchange for living space. This is not compensatible by workmens compensation or covered by any health insurance. You will need your own health insurance coverage and/ or sign a release of responsibility if injured on the property at any time. Also, because this is an adult retreat and we have an abundance of wild life no children or large pets allowed. Pets will be discussed on a one on one basis. Possible room for your own horses.

Our company has recently acquired a new self storage property in Macon Georgia and we are seeking self-motivated, entrepreneurial people with great customer service, phone, organizational and sales skills. You will assist customers by phone and in-person by helping them understand their storage needs, renting units to new customers, processing payments from current tenants, answering questions and solving problems.
Your responsibilities will also include but not be limited to:
- Property and facility upkeep including grounds keeping and housekeeping
- Complete the rental agreements, receipts, insurance addendum and any other documents required for the transaction and/or reporting.
- Collection of all rent, fees and other monies owed to the business.
- Maintain tenant files utilizing computer system as provided; Prepare and mail weekly, monthly and other requested reports.
- Send required tenant legal notices
- Make courtesy and collection calls, collect past-due rent, and document these calls in the tenant files.
- Process and initiate collection services and process delinquent accounts in accordance with policy and federal and state law.
- Maintain posted office hours and preserve the office, merchandise area, common areas in a clean, organized, business-like manner.
- Keep empty storage spaces clean and ready to rent.
- Participate in the promotion and accurate tracking of marketing programs and outside tracking services i.e., telephone support centers as prescribed by Employer;
Previous experience in customer service or retail sales required.
Proficient telephone skills are critical.
Candidate must be able to work weekends.
Apartment, hotel or storage experience helpful but not necessary.
Strong computer skills a plus.

The Stonewall Jackson Team is looking for a well-qualified individual or couple who will be mentored and groomed to assume the innkeeping and upper-management responsibilities of the Inn, including the supervision and training of interns. As the Owner, I have been running this legacy inn in our lively downtown historic district for the past 14 years and am planning to withdraw from the GM position of the Inn at the end of 2013. I will mentor you along a career track which starts as an Aspiring or Assistant Innkeeper, and would lead to Master Innkeeper/Owner.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Maybe you're on your second career
- You might have a background in education or other professional field
- You wish to make a career change to Innkeeping
- You are personally mature and financial stable
- You take personal grooming and presentation seriously
- You have good social judgment, conversational skills, and enjoy playing host
- You can function calmly and with good judgment in crisis situations
- You'd call yourself (at least) fairly handy
- You might have a green thumb
- You are, above all things, detail-oriented and take pride in your work
Not sure how to picture life as an Innkeeper? I always recommending reading "So... You Want To Be An Innkeeper?," available in any bookstore and on Amazon. It is an excellent resource, and by the time you're finished, you will have a good idea of whether or not the innkeeping life may be for you.
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING:
Suffice it to say, you must be able to do many things and multi-task to boot. Search through some B&B Innkeeper job descriptions to get a good feel for the role, and read the book mentioned above. As well, doing an informational interview with the Innkeepers of several well-run B&B will give you a good idea of what is required to operate a successful inn.
- Hosting guests from around the country (and sometimes beyond)
- Running the daily operations of the inn, including housekeeping, cooking breakfast, and handling guest questions and inquiries
- Fixing toilets, changing lightbulbs, arranging flowers, doing yard work, shoveling snow, painting, minor repairs... the list never ends at an inn!
- Exploring and following through on partner and marketing opportunities
- Ultimately handling the business operations of the Inn
- Training other staff and interns as necessary
SKILLS NEEDED:
A B&B is an entrepreneurial business enterprise, so one must have aptitude and skills in all phases of business planning and operation. It is a challenging and exciting business that covers all aspects of the Hospitality industry! One must be ready to deliver competent service, from simple housekeeping to those of a CEO of a small business.
- Basic (at least) computer knowledge
- Knowledge of good business practices
- Some experience with budgetary planning and bookkeeping
- General marketing savvy
- Professional housekeeping and hospitality experience a real plus
THE SALARY:
The salary would be determined by the qualifications and experience of the individual or couple (note that the numbers on our website posting are for an individual). Housing is included in one of two Innkeeping apartments that are on site.
