Kauai, the Garden Island of Hawaii, is filled with natural beauty and aloha (loving friendliness). We came to Kauai on our honeymoon in 1991 and never left. We raised our daughter here on our organic permaculture farm, ran a gourmet catering business and rented honeymoon cottages. Four years ago we bought almost 3 acres of stream front bamboo/grass covered property within walking distance of two of the best beaches anywhere (Moloa'a and Larsen's). Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg lives chose to live very nearby. We have two 200 year old mango trees, a young food forest, and are totally off grid. It is rare on Kauai to find a place where you can avoid the sounds of the small highway that encircles the island, but ours is one.
Steve is passionate about growing and preparing food, involved in the ManKind Project (mkpusa.org), and has many skills that shaped our homestead we call Heartstream. He knows some Spanish and Italian.
I, DJ, am a professional in home caregiver, mostly of elders and hospice.
We are both active in personal growth and compassionate communication. This is a health conscious, no nicotine zone with some of the world’s cleanest air. We have been Yuppies but mostly hippies. We are very accepting of LGBTQ. We have two cats and are open to a quiet dog. We have lots of equipment to share such as a car, a bikes, camping and watersports gear. The internet is soley via hotspots. .
Your accommodations are one or two 10’ x 20’ softside cabins on a plywood platforms and one that is a solar energy powered totally furnished and supplied kitchen with a full size gas stove and a medium size refrigerator. You have your own flush toilet bathroom a private hot water stall shower with dressing area.
For your work trade, we mostly need help with organic gardening and yard maintenance (we have a riding mower), and weeding. We currently are offering a work trade for 10-15 hours/week/person with the option for more hours paid.

In-home caregiver and caretaker needed for elderly woman in a large home with gardens. She lives alone, and needs help with personal, house and garden care. In the past this role has been fulfilled long-term by either a single person, or a couple. Private 1 bedroom suite with kitchen provided. Pets ok within reason.
Caregiver responsibilities include:
- Light housekeeping
- Driving and helping to get groceries *Drivers license required
- Making light meals
- Personal care such as helping to do her hair in the morning, helping into/out of the shower.
- Basic elderly medical care such as applying lotions or bandages if she cuts herself.
- Keeping track of doctors appointments, transporting to them, understanding and logging prescriptions and medications, ensuring she takes her medications daily.
Caretaker responsibilities include:
- Mowing and maintaining the lawn and large gardens.
- Maintaining the pool and its cover.
- Snow clearing driveway near house.
- Coordinating trades for larger or specialized maintenance requirements.
This position offers a nice lifestyle, living in a lovely log house in the forest on 2 acres of gardens central to town. This position must live-in with 60 hours per week Monday-Friday. Facilities and Vehicle Assistant - Etna, CA

Opportunity to spend April 15th thru October 15th, 2024 on a 500+ acre Chistian Adventure Camp, located 50 miles south of the Oregon border in northern California. Programs include a full Rach Camp/Equestrian program, Backpacking, Rafting and Mountain Biking, as well as "Classic" summer camp.
Shared job duties would include facilities and vehicles maintenance, working alongside our other facilites and maintenance staff to provide a beautiful camp for our guests to enjoy and reliable transportation while campers are off-site for adventures. Grounds keeping, basic maintenence, vehicle maintenence, and equipment operation are possible areas of responsibility based on experience. Job Summary
Seeking a highly ambitious, career-oriented, resourceful individual to co-manager and create a dynamic team of two. This co-manager postion will live onsite. The typical schedule for the onsite manager is Tuesday thru Saturday (Sundays and Mondays off).
Compensation and Perks
$17 per hour plus $400 signing bonus after 90 days!

As a condition of employment, the Manager will live onsite and be provided a 2 bedroom + 1 bath apartment, - with all utilities included. The gross wage value of the housing & utilities in the Richmond, CA market is over $2250 per month.
1.5% commission of the gross revenue collected by the facility monthly above the threshold set at the time of hire. Initially, we estimate this to be $50-$100 per month initially, but this commission grows aggressively as rents increase and many long-term managers make over $1000 per month from this component alone.
6.25% commission on all merchandise sales, paid monthly. This includes all locks, boxes, and packing supplies.
Combined between the provided housing and separate commission components, the estimated extra earnings are between the equivalent of $6-$10 per hour additional – bringing the potential combined equivalent compensation to between $23 and $27 per hour.
Duties
Oversight of all day-to-day operations
Works alongside team members and direct reports to maximize sales, marketing, occupancy, and revenue growth the facility
Provides outstanding customer service including assessing and resolving customer queries and problems and professionally
Effectively sells storage units to telephone, walk-in and email inquiries by employing the methods within our Call Flow Guidelines
Completes leases and other documentation in a neat and orderly manner
Reduces delinquent accounts through telephone, text and email contact
Networks with other businesses to grow awareness and expand presence within the local community
Audits inventory and other administrative tasks
Maintains exemplary curb appeal in both our office and throughout that facility, including sweeping units, cleaning hallways and disposing of debris
Qualifications and Skills
Sales and marketing experience or mindset
Passion for interacting with the public
Meticulous attention to detail and organization skills
Enthusiasm for face-to-face networking
Proficient with technology including CRMs, web browsers and the Microsoft Office Suite
Receptive to ongoing coaching and feedback
Previous property management experience a plus
