Store Operation and Maintenance Position
We are a small resort located within the Sierra National Forest where local activities include backpacking to the high sierra back country, swimming and boating in nearby creeks and lake. We are looking for individuals and working couples with the passion for guest services and dedication to the day-to-day operation of the business. We are also expanding the business to include cabins in the next 1-2 years. Desired candidates must be pleasant, honest, courteous, hospitable with commitment. Seasonal, May – September/October. Very good salary.
Business Operation Role:
- -Manage and work in store and provide frendly guest service.
- -Provide accurate report of cash register
- -Ensure smooth day-to-day resort operation
- -Perform cleaning and maintenance of the store area
- -Certain level of creativity and latitude is expected
Daily Duties entail:
- +Greeting customers and using the cash register
- +Campground Registration
- +Answering phones and taking camp reservations
- +Restocking merchandise
- +Update new merchandise
- +Selling gas via Gas Boy computer to pumps
- +Keeping front of store clean and neat
Restaurant Operation Role:
- -Assist cook/or be a cook
- -Provide wait service when needed
- -Keep kitchen and food areas clean/organized
Maintenance/Project Role:
- -Skilled handyman able to work on plumbing, minor electrical, sheet rock, carpentry and finishing
- -Paint, clean, and general repairs at the facility
- -Maintain all lighting of the property
- Preferably a couple of someone who has store front working experience or hospitality business and understand the nature of this business lifestyle.
- -Clean and maintain store showers
- -Water trees and perform landscaping needs.

Job Description:
Responsible for phone, internet and walk-in inquiry conversions - Renting Storage Units
Renting U-Haul trucks, trailers and tow dollies
Collecting Payments
Making Collection Calls
Maximizing Occupancy and Rents
Maximizing Revenue and Overseeing all aspects of the operation of the facility
Responsible for recommendations and implementation of local marketing initiatives
Marketing to local businesses and apartment managers
Responsible for customer service (rentals, payments, sales and customer issues)
Ability to be driven by performance goals
Responsible for maintaining customer files and auction statuses
Responsible for maintaining and improving facility appearance
Responsible for daily walkthrough of our facility
Responsible for daily bank runs/deposits
Light to heavy maintenance and clean-up work required
Responsible for cleaning units and interior buildings
Self-Storage management experience a plus

+ General knowledge of painting, construction, plumbing, and electrical connections

+ Ability to Improve the overall curb-appeal of the facility to keep it clean, fresh and uncluttered
+ Ability to improve the landscaping around the facility
+ Ability to manage third-party contractors hired for various capital improvement projects
Total Compensation for the Facility Manager AND Maintenance Manager includes:
+ Housing provided for $500 rent/month ($250 per manager) with all utilities paid for
+ $3,640/month ($1,820 per manager), paid as hourly wages
+ SIGNIFICANT potential for commission if performance incentives are met

Job Qualifications:
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must have a High School Diploma/GED equivalent and at least two years of related experience (sales/customer service/leasing/rentals)
Must be a team player and have strong leadership skills
Must be profit driven
Proficient with computers: Word, Excel, Internet
Job requires constant movement and must be able to lift and move 35 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

First and foremost the innkeeper(s) is to provide a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere/experience for guests. Additional duties include check-in/out, concierge service, preparing/serving breakfast daily, collecting payments, grounds keeping, laundry, shopping and light maintenance for our 7 room boutique inn. Successful candidate(s) must be out-going and enjoy meeting people from all over the country and world. The ability to stay customer focused while maintaining a smoothly running inn is a must.
In exchange for the above responsibilities, the innkeeper is compensated with free housing, utilities, and a $150/week stipend. Reservations, housekeeping, billing and maintenance are provided by additional support staff.
Summer is VERY busy. We are looking for someone who is willing to work or cover the inn 7 days/nights a week (yes you do get some time off but need to cover during our busy season).

Volunteer Couple in Pacific Nicaraguan Surf town - San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua

We have an opportunity for a dynamic couple who have some experience in any or several of the following;on hand work experience/education in business development, customer service, hospitality, marketing, graphic design, retail sales, computer software, social media, etc.
Come live on our ocean view farm located 15 minutes North of the Southern Pacific Nicaraguan Surf town San Juan del Sur. We are a dynamic entreprenurial family business that encompeses retail, home decor, fashion, farming and other. In exchange for your help with our farm and businesses we offer a small independent house on our property where we also live. This includes internet, electricity, water and 1 x per week house cleaning. We include a weekly grocery budget and there are some family style meals and trips provided. We provide transportation for all work activities and can help sometime with rides in your down time however complete full time transportation is not provided. We live about a 20 minute walk to three beaches and one of them is a famous surf beach here (Playa Maderas). You must get to our location in Nicaragua on your own expense. We are looking for a couple who wants to have a new experience but also works on things when it is necessary. Self starters who can work independently and who are trustworthy and dependable. There is no set schedule so flexibility and a great attitude are a plus! Must speak English fluently, Spanish and other languages are a bonus! Minimum time required is 1 month maximum 3 months. Work Hours per week range from around 30-36 hors - 6 days a week Sundays always off.
