Motel/Hotel Innkeepers - Saint Robert, MO

Looking for Innkeepers to operate motels in Central Missouri and Central Wisconsin.  Properties range from 25 to 65 rooms.  Onsite manager's apartment available.

Saint Robert, Missouri is one of the locations.  Others are in Central Missouri and Central Wisconsin.

Ideal candidates will have prior motel/hotel experience and be able to handle maintenance tasks.

Duties will include checking in guests, cleaning rooms, maintenance tasks, maintaining property and marketing.  

Some properties will need renovations, so candidates with flooring, plumbing, painting, dry wall, etc... experience a plus.

Experence with online websites like TripAdvisor.com, Expedia.com, Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc... a plus.

These would be long term positions with the ability to move into other properties owned by our group within Missouri and/or Wisconsin.

Jobs would begin in May or June of 2018.

Maintenance / Caretaker Position - Cape Verde

Immediate start - Based on a small 11 villa complex on the island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde. 

English speaking - couple or single male.  It ideally fits a healthy retired couple who want a relaxed lifestyle in the sun and to be paid for it. Sorry but the situation, environment etc. means no young families.

Applicants will need to have some knowledge in building skills (i.e. plumbing, electric, painting) because maintenance is very important.  You should also be prepared to do general cleaning around the complex, which consists mainly of sweeping and washing down the villas and cleaning the swimming pool and Jacuzzi.  Everything needs to be kept cleaned as the complex is situated on the frontline next to the beach, there will be some gardening, mainly weeding and watering.  

You must be prepared to work on your own initiative, working as your own bosses’ day to day, therefore the role has no limited pressure, however you are still expected to perform every day duties plus any requests from the administrator.  It is important that you are friendly, approachable and prepared to take instructions from the Complex administrator who is based in the UK.

Please note successful applicants MUST be prepared to supply transport at their own cost or use public transport. It is also necessary that you apply for your working visas at the local police station at your own cost. Initially you enter the country on a tourist visa valid for a month and will have to apply for a further work visa.

At present the complex is undergoing some refurbishment, however when completed some owners will wish to rent out their villas.  This will enable the applicants to increase their income by supplying services cleaning & change overs plus any additional internal maintenance duties asked by owners.

I would emphasise that this is quite a remote area at present, it is considered an up and coming tourist area, but significant change may be several years away.  Therefore, you must be prepared to feel isolated at times unless you go into town.  Locally there is a small hotel business run by a friendly French couple, and one restaurant on the beach front that only opens on Sunday lunchtime.  The local village approx. 10 mins walk away has a shop and restaurant plus a regular transport service to Mindelo.

The island is very laid back, languages spoken are Creole and Portugese (very little English is spoken locally).    The island has its own international airport approx 20 mins away from the complex. The main town named Mindelo (approx. 50k residents) where all the shops, bars, restaurants and services are based is a 20 min journey from the complex.  Some English is spoken here with a local Irish bar.

The monthly salary is approx. €600 plus a 2-bedroom apartment supplied. The apartment is part furnished; 1 bedroom (fully) plus all white goods and some smaller kitchen items. Some smaller items must be supplied by yourselves plus bed linen and towels etc.  The previous couple had an internet supply to the apartment.

Our rentals are listed on several booking sites that will need to be updated and maintained.

Job duties include (and are not limited to):  website maintenance, guest relations and service, answering phones, taking reservations, housekeeping, office paperwork, general maintenance, repairs and upkeep. 

Crystal Mountain is a beautiful destination situated close to Mount Rainier.  Summers include hiking, horseback riding and weddings.  Winters host some of the best of the Northwest skiing.

Marina Dock Attendants - East Cracroft Island, BC

Summer help wanted at our Marina. We have two summer positions available. We are looking for people who are outgoing, enjoy working with people, are generally handy and hard working, enjoy the outdoors, and have boating experience. This job will involve customer service, general maintenance, cash register work, and some boating. This is a summer position available starting in May and ending in September, the exact dates are somewhat flexible. Due to the remote location, this is a live-in/on-site position. Liveaboard boaters encouraged, but accommodations are provided for those who need them and would include the following: utilities, internet access, and limited transportation to and from the Marina when needed.
