Description:
This position ideally suits a working couple. The Resort Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations and routine maintenance of the resort. The current Management contract expires November 1, 2018. The CLR Board of Directors is seeking proposals for the continued management of the resort’s operations.
Nestled at the south end of Christina Lake B.C., Christina Lakeside Resort (CLR) is a privately owned and operated corporation run by its members. CLR includes 1100 feet of sandy beach, 131 fully serviced sites, clubhouse, washroom/shower/laundry facilities, tennis/basketball court, extensive boat dock system, designated swimming area, manager’s residence, work shop, sewage plant, paved roads, parking lots, and large green spaces.
The resort is typically open and operated from late March to late October depending on weather. The individual sites are primarily owner occupied, with some sites rented on a nightly basis. The 3-bedroom Manager’s residence is operational year round.
Christina Lake and the surrounding area offer a wide range of recreational opportunities making this the perfect community to live and work.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Due to the wide variety of tasks involved with the day-to-day operations of the resort, the successful candidate will bring a range of talents, skills and experience. The successful management candidate will be expected to possess outstanding problem solving and decision-making abilities, integrity, assertiveness, flexibility, accuracy and the ability to cope under the pressure of multiple demands.
Other required skills:
- Current EOCP Level 1 certification for the operation of a Waste Water Treatment plant
- A strong business acumen and fundamental knowledge of the outdoor recreation and hospitality sectors within the tourism industry
- Proven ability in developing and adhering to budgets and an understanding of financial processes and procedures (Sage accounting software)
- An understanding of construction and competence in carpentry and general maintenance skills
- Experience with successful management of contracts and/or permits
- Experience in completing reports and gathering information as required for government agencies, and ensuring compliance with government permits and licenses
- Experience with a guest reservation system, welcoming guests and processing payments
- Ability to cultivate strong and effective working relationships with local businesses and stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Camphosts/Lawn Maintenance - Darby, MT

A small resort located in Darby in the Bitterroot Valley of southwestern Montana is looking for workcampers to assist with office duties, lawn maintenance, and light building maintenance. We would like a dependable couple who are non-smokers, team players with people skills, and in good physical condition.
This position is very flexible allowing the workcampers ample free time. You will live onsite in your own RV. Full hookups (water, sewer, electric, cable TV and wifi) will be provided in exchange for the following: periodic office time answering phone calls, making reservations, and checking in guests and lawn maintenance. Workers will be provided a cordless phone/intercom allowing them to work conveniently in their RV or anywhere onsite as opposed to sitting in the office. Lawn maintenance includes occasional mowing and weed eating as necessary and monitoring the irrigation system.
An additional salary will be paid to the workcampers when they occasionally take over management of the resort when owners are away for any extended period of time. Other work is available such as housekeeping services and building projects if interested. Preferred commitment is from mid-May/June through mid-October, 2018.

Urgent! Couples Wanted for Hunter Check Station Operator Volunteers ASAP - Kenansville, FL

URGENT! We are looking for Station Operator Volunteers ASAP The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking volunteers. Volunteer operators are needed at our hunter check station between 15 September 2018 and 21 April 2019, in exchange for a beautiful free RV site.
We are located in central Florida, in Osceola Co. just south of Orlando, and approximately 15 miles south of Holopaw along Highway 441. Nearby towns include St. Cloud (~25 miles), Kissimmee (~35 miles), Orlando (~50 miles), and Melbourne (~50 miles). We are within an hour's drive of Disney World, Universal Studios, theme parks, and beaches!
There are five full hook-up RV sites with electricity, sewer, and water. The area is remote, so if you enjoy the outdoors, a rural lifestyle, and outdoor recreation such as hunting and fishing, you will probably be well-suited for this position. We also provde a refrigerator, stove, restrooms, and laundry facilities on site for volunteers to use.
Volunteers’ primary duties will be to monitor recreational use on the Management Area, provide information to the public, and collect biological data. This includes keeping count of hunters and other recreational users, checking various licenses and permits, providing information to hunters and recreational users, and collecting biological data from harvested animals. No previous experience is necessary and training will be provided by staff biologists. However, if hunting is objectionable to you, or if you are reluctant to handle dead animals, then you should not apply. In addition to work at the check station, volunteers may assist with facility maintenance, data entry, and other tasks as needed.
In exchange for hookups and use of facilities, we request a maximum of 32 hours of work each week. Days of the week worked are somewhat flexible. The heaviest use of the Management Area occurs from September through December, and consequently, some preference may be given to those people who can arrive early in the season and/or those that can stay the entire season through the Spring.
