WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Due to the early departure of one of our workamper couples because of family illness, We will need a workamper couple beginning around June 18 and staying through November 1, if possible. (Dates are negotiable)
We are a friendly “Old Florida” resort with a pool heated during chilly weather and cooled during hot spells, a huge community spa, 8 gorgeous cottages and 19 full hookup RV sites in the rural town of Welaka. We have a 5 star rating on trip advisor and are a popular destination resort with many new and returning guests.
We offer a full hookup site with paid electricity, free wi fi and half price for food and beverages at our Boathouse Bar on the river in exchange for a combined 20 hours of work per week. (Please note that we do not offer monetary compensation).
On Sunday afternoons from March through October, the Boathouse Bar grill is open serving chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, brats & hot dogs. We’re also well known for our seared tuna and mahi sandwiches. The bar is also open on Friday & Saturday evenings when we serve light snacks such as pizza, hummus and toasted pita bread, salsa & chips or fish dip and crackers. It’s a great place to watch the beautiful sunsets over the Ocala National Forest across the river!
Schedules are made on Friday based on the number of cottages we need to clean, so there are not set work days, but we are always off on Saturdays. Some weeks we work fewer hours & others more, but hours would average 20 hours per week per couple. There’s plenty of time for shopping, touring the area or just floating in the pool. Since we are normally finished working by 2pm, many afternoons are spent at the pool with other workampers and guests.
In most cases, the gentlemen handle outdoor light maintenance such as pool cleaning, blowing leaves off cottage porches, checking hot tubs, etc. Ladies spend most of their hours cleaning our beautiful cottages.
