Central Colorado Gentleman's Ranch Seeking Experienced Couple Team

Great private family client seeks Couple team with responsibility for all ranch operations such as land management, owner’s residence, historic home and structures, equipment, ranch hands, horses, cattle grazing lease, and, running all hospitality programs for the owners and their guests.
The property is a high mountain ranch that is approximately 1,200 acres of mixed aspen and pine forest as well as prairie land. The owner’s residence is a 9,000 sq. ft. luxury home with high end finishes, appliances, and systems. There are two other homes on the ranch, including the ranch manager’s home and the historic log cabin lodge. There are several other structures including a large workshop, cabins, sheds, and barns. The elevation ranges from 8,500-10,000 ft. with views beyond 100 miles! This is a remote property offering a quiet lifestyle in natural wildlife surroundings.
The main goal of the position is to maintain the ranch as a premiere family legacy estate property. Most of the year the priority is extensive and precise preparation of facilities and a wide range of equipment; prairie and forest care kept at a high level. Regular pasture maintenance including fence mending and gate repairs. Daily inspection and regular maintenance at owner’s residence along with regular housecleaning. Daily care of 6 horses and donkeys, along with the management of two skilled ranch hands.
Hands-on maintenance and repairs are required, with additional help and vendors that you are responsible for managing. Use and maintenance of ranch vehicles and equipment including trucks, farm tractor, Bobcat, UTV, 4 wheelers, trailers, chainsaws, guns and ammo, a fully operational and stocked maintenance shop, etc. The owners visit on-site mostly during the summer, with occasional spring or fall visits. Total owner time on property is 4 - 6 weeks a year. The owner’s home and immediate grounds are kept in 5-star, guest ready condition year-round. When the owners visit, all of the facilities, equipment, and property should be fully prepared, food and supplies stocked, and the entire property ready to offer a seamless luxury experience.
You will also manage the finances and reporting for budget items and expenses.
Winter snow removal is variable but can be extensive, requiring a Bobcat and plow.
This position is self-managed, based on the needs of the property and the schedule of owner visits. When the owners and guests are on-site, you must have a 24 hour x 7 day a week mentality with a hospitality focus. In the off-season you will coordinate your work according to climate, seasonal projects, vendor availability, and efficient flow of necessary routine maintenance.
Job Requirements
We are seeking experienced candidates with strong hands-on mechanical and repair skills, proven precise attention to details at a luxury level, unusually organized, sophisticated social skills and positive vendor relationships, previous care of a luxury home, and the ability to create a high level hospitality experience for the owners and guests.
Lifestyle Notes – VERY IMPORTANT:
This is a hands-on position. A very good mechanical aptitude and high level of organization plus follow-up are necessary. This is not an office based management role, though office skills for reporting and organization are required. This is a family ranch that is focused on very high quality year-round preparation. While there are ~60 pair of cattle grazing during the summer and fall, this is not a working cattle or hay ranch.
Altitude is a major factor – please be certain you are willing and capable of living in this environment. (8,000 – 10,000 ft.)
This property has high-speed Starlink internet and limited cell phone service. On-site communication is supported with hand-held radios.
The distance to neighboring towns is 45-60 minutes. Social and cultural opportunities are limited.
COMPENSATION: The position pays a full salary plus wonderful housing in the 2000 sq. ft. Caretaker's home. Negotiable pay range for the right candidates.
