WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

Goshen Valley is currently seeking mission-minded married couples who feel called to ministering to youth in a residential setting.  We also offer a unique “Houseparent in Training” opportunity for couples interested in exploring whether this is the right ministry for them. Couples like Al & Brit:

“My husband and I felt the call into ministry over 15 years ago. He was working in each of us before we knew he was working in us together. Our hearts were for youth that were hurting, broken, and longing for restored hope and purpose. He put in us a passion to live out Jeremiah 1:27, ‘Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.’ We have been several places over the last 13 years of our ministry through Houseparenting and no other place has quite felt like home. There is healing here at Goshen, not just for the youth, for the adults too. Goshen is inviting, beautiful, and filled with like-minded people willing to serve as God leads. We love it is like one big family, not always happy, but always willing to walk through the frontlines together. We are thankful God has equipped us in a way we get to do this ministry everyday. Everyday, we get to walk along side the youth God brings to us, helping them overcome their trauma, and showing them the love of God. We live for not only the fun memories that come from this, but even those that are challenging that help bring growth.”

Goshen Valley Boys Ranch of Waleska, GA, situated on a 160 acre, wooded ranch in the beautiful North Georgia foothills, has been providing a quality environment for youth in foster care for over 25 years.  We have been awarded AJC Top Workplace for the past 4 years. We are COA accredited. We focus on spiritual growth, recreation, education, and independent living skills for the youth in our care. Our Houseparents receive full time room and board, including during time off; and enjoy competitive salaries with fully paid health/dental/vision benefits.

While most group homes employ shift workers, our proven model focuses on creating an environment that feels as much like family as possible.   As a Houseparent at Goshen Valley,  you are the center of a team focused on ministering to 6-8 boys between the ages of 8-18.  You help achieve the mission of “Peace and Purpose” by creating a home environment that feels like family…not an institution.

At Goshen, a comprehensive support system surrounds you:

  • An Academic Coordinator enrolls/withdraws children from school, advocates for special educational needs, and attends school meetings.
  • A Case Manager communicates with Court/DFCS, transports children to all DFCS/court related meetings, and schedules/supervises family visits.
  • A Medical Coordinator provides first aid and medical consultation, schedules medical and dental visits, transports to medical and dental appointments, and picks up prescription medication.
  • An Activities Director facilitates community and on-campus activities.
  • Additional support staff assist with transportation, supervision, homework, and more.

We know that for our children to succeed, we need our Houseparents and staff to succeed.  We won’t promise you the easiest job in the world…but we will promise you the rewards are worth it!  We invite you to see the Goshen difference and investigate how you can join in our mission of “Peace and Purpose.”
