The position requires someone with an owner-minded mentality and will be attending to all day-to-day operations, in charge of everything from administrative activities, property maintenance, tenant relations to overseeing capital improvements. The Lodge is located in a beautiful , but very remote mountainous area in Eastern Oregon. The property is open all year round for guests, and winter access is by track vehicle only. Property includes main lodge with licensed restaurant, six guest cabin, crew/owner's cabins and pack facilities.
Valuable skills include: Facility Maintenance-basic plumbing, electrical, appliances, familiarity with generators/battery/inverter systems, snow equipment maintenance/operation, and lite construction/carpentry.
All aspects of Hospitality-office management, guest relations, advertising/social media promotion, housekeeping, cooking & kitchen management.
Pack Station/Horse/Mule skills a plus.
Couple must enjoy living remotely and the mountainous outdoors. Excellent guest/people skills are required, along with the ability to work with and provide leadership to a small number of seasonal resident staff. This is a hands on management position and duties/responsibilities vary with the seasonal aspects of the property.
Couple will live on site. Salary plus room and board included.

Manage day-to-day operations of the facility
Maintain an exceptionally clean facility, including outside maintenance
Greet customers and others in a professional manner
Wear company required uniform and abide by company dress code at all times
Show, rent and clean units
Perform market surveys as requested by the Corporate Office
Supervise Assistant Managers
Answer the telephone in a professional manner
Make collection calls to late tenants
Process liens when necessary
Perform daily lock check and patrol facility on a continual basis daily
Communicate facility issues with Corporate Office in timely manner
Clean public restroom and stock with supplies as needed
Clean facility, including power washing, picking up trash and cigarette butts, sweeping, using the blower, snow blower, mop, etc.
Rent trucks, move trucks, clean trucks, maintain trucks
Job Requirements:
Must have excellent phone skills and customer service skills.
Must be detail orientated
Must have general computer skills
Must be able to enthusiastically sell company products and services in person and on the telephone
Must be able to work multiple locations if requested (we compensate for gas expenses)
Must be willing to work any day, including weekends.
Must pass a detailed background check including a DMV check
Must be proficient in MS Windows
Must be able to sit and/or stand for 8 hours per day

Resident Caretaker Couple - Merritt, BC

We are seeking a year-round, resident Caretaker Couple for beautiful Paradise Lake Resort located in the Thompson/Okanagan, halfway between Peachland and Merritt. We are an established four season cooperative with 28 individually owned log cabins and a lodge situated on an alpine lake.
The position is ideal for a mature couple with a sense of community and positive attitude who wish to contribute to a welcoming experience for owners and guests alike. You are honest, dependable, physically fit (non-smoker) with a high standard of neatness and organization. You must enjoy working outdoors in all weather including extreme conditions. The Caretakers will live on-site and work in consultation with the Board of Directors and owners, overseeing and directly participating in the daily operations of the property.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the ability to operate a small resort with confidence and a positive attitude. You must be organized, have excellent communication and time management skills. We require proficiency in Word, Excel, Gmail and Google Drive.
Duties include lodge maintenance (interior and exterior), snow plowing, landscaping and security of the property. Operation of small equipment, general maintenance, handyman skills and mechanical aptitude are required. Due to our remote location our Caretakers need to be able to troubleshoot, make timely decisions and exercise good judgement using the resources at hand.
Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience and includes living accommodation in the lodge. References, credit checks, criminal checks and civil litigation checks will be conducted.
