Kauai, the Garden Island, is filled with natural beauty and aloha (loving friendliness). We came to Kauai on our honeymoon in 1991 and never left. We raised our daughter here on our organic permaculture farm, ran a gourmet catering business and rented honeymoon cottages. We had our retirement funds swindled away but inherited just enough to buy our 2.7 acres of stream front bamboo/grass covered property in 2019. We are within walking distance of two of the best beaches anywhere (Moloa'a and Larsen's). Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg lives about a quarter mile from us. We have two 200 year old mango trees, a lovely meadow/lawn and are totally off grid.It is rare on Kauai to find a place where you can avoid the sounds of the highway, but ours is one.
Kauai has been one of the safest places to be during the pandemic. We are just now experimenting with opening tourism to those who have been recently tested.
Steve has been a gourmet chef for 40 years and recently became a professional handyman who could help you learn many skills. He knows some Spanish and Italian.
After doing the Hospice Volunteer Training and the end of life care for a number of folks, I am in training to become a Certified Death Doula. I am a Licensed Nurses Aide and have been an entrepreneur of a few businesses. I am currently a professional organizer, office and landscaping assistant and property manager a 5 million dollar home for sale.
We are both active in personal growth and compassionate communication. This is a health conscious no nicotine zone with filtered water and some of the world’s cleanest air. We have been Yuppies but mostly hippies. We are very accepting of LGBTQ. We have two cats and are open to a quiet dog. We have lots of equipment to share such as our vehicles, bikes, camping and watersports gear. The only internet is via hotspots. .
Your accommodations are a 10’ x 20’ softside cabin on a plywood platform for your private space but more could be added. The rest is shared with a lovely 36 year old, Haley, from Alaska. It includes a flush toilet bathroom, a hot water stall shower, a solar energy powered totally supplied kitchen with a full size gas stove, a smallish refrigerator but lots of cooler space, and a living area with a large corner couch.
For work, we want you to do what you enjoy. There are lots of choices: organic gardening and yard maintenance (we have a zero turn riding mower), house cleaning or building (we plan to build a 500 sq ft home for us but also are zoned to have a larger home (for you?), joining in my new caretaking business, working with Steve in the handyman business, etc. We currently are offering a work trade for 15 hours/week/person.

We are looking for a self-motivated couple to manage a Mobile Home Community. The team must live on property. One person will work in the office working with computer systems, residents, collecting rents, accounts payable, filing, and all other aspects of office work. The other person will work outside doing mowing, edging, painting, snow-plowing, light plumbing and electrical, and all other aspects of maintenance.
Property Manager:
- Direct sales and marketing activity.
- Perform weekly property visits with follow up.
- Ensure that all rents are collected and handle delinquency accounts with Attorney.
- 3 years of related management experience in retail, hospitality or property management preferred.
- Clear understanding of the budgeting process and effective financial management and analysis.
- Knowledge of computer systems is a must. Proficiency in rent management-based software.
- It is expected and required all business practices are conducted in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Must be flexible, willing to work Saturdays, and able to adapt in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
- To adhere to all applicable fair housing laws governing real estate sales, leasing and management maintenance service.
Maintenance Manager:
- Physical ability to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of facilities.
- Clean vacant lots.
- Basic electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Respond to resident service requests when applicable.
- Follow safety precautions.
- Complete all work in a timely manner, without sacrificing quality.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and tools in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition.
Qualifications for Both Roles:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of property management experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent customer service skills.

This position is responsible for cleaning, grounds keeping, and providing maintenance to all areas of the Hersheypark Camping Resort.
This is a seasonal position which can start as soon as mid-March 2021(and as late as May 2021) and last thru mid-December 2021(or as early as September 2021). Applicants can expect to work limited hours mid-March 2021 thru early May 2021, and full hours (40 per week) May 2021 thru mid-September 2021. Limited working hours are then available again from mid-September 2021 thru December 2021. Working hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and will include weekends and holidays. Schedule is based off business demand and will vary week to week.
Workampers receive an hourly wage plus a Full Hook Up Site w/ 50 AMP electrical service, water, sewer, cable & WiFi.
Job Functions:
- Detailed cleaning of cabins, bath houses and public spaces
- Picking up trash
- Cleaning fire pits
- Operating lawn equipment to include lawn mowers, string trimmers, chain saws, and hedge saws
- General Maintenance
- Washing dishes and doing laundry
- Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
- Provide guest site escort as needed by front desk team
Basic Qualifications:

Caretaker Position on Private Island - Belize/Central America - Dangriga

We need a couple in good mental and physical condition, who feels confident living alone with a pig at our remote island in very simple environment asap. Frugal dealing with resources is required.
Electricity comes from our solar system and drinking and using water from rain water harvest. Your job would be: being present at the island 24/7 and looking after and feeding Piggy, a free living, dominant and not castrated male pig, maintaining and controlling the water and solar system, cleaning the beaches and trails, moving some sea weed, watering the plants and other small maintenance jobs. In your spare time you could watch the sky, sunsets, dolphins and rays, explore the island, go snorkeling or fishing around the island, find meditation or yoga spots, or just seize the day.
Accommodation is a little wooden beach hut with a comfortable queen sized bed, kitchen corner with two burner gas stoves, and basic equipment. There is no boat on the island. All supplies you need, you have to bring when you come in a hired motorboat from the mainland. There is no delivery service! Depending on the weather, there might be some sandflies. The shower is outside, along with a compost toilet. We have perfect conditions for snorkeling and fishing in shallow waters around the island. Internet and cellphone service are available on the island!
Couple needed for startup boutique resort - Shooting Creek, NC

Who we are: A couple in our 50's with 2 young (big) dogs, and a cat, living on 10 acres in a remote area of Western NC/Northeast GA mountains. We are in the planning and building stages of forming a small, boutique-type tiny house resort and retreat center on our property; both of us will be putting in plenty of work ourselves but need assistance in our startup. We're easy going, laid back (not at ALL formal!), and are looking for the same in a couple to work with us. We are cognizant of life during COVID, and expect all around us to do the same.
Who we are looking for: A handy couple to help us get our project off the ground, with the possibility of the position being long term. The candidates must have a varied skill set and be willing to work hard. Building skills, carpentry, heavy equipment operation, landscape/hardscape experience, housekeeping/cleaning, administrative/bookkeeping skills a bonus.
MUST be comfortable working/living in a remote location - we are 26 miles, one way, down a 2 lane, US Forest Service road, surrounded by wilderness area. While there are a few other homes nearby, they are vacation homes; we are the only full time residents within 2-3 miles. Housing provided in a 4 bedroom/2 bath cabin, all utilities paid. Salary DOE. No kids, no pets, no DRAMA!
