Caretaker Couple Position - Quadra Island, BC

A family-owned property on Quadra Island, BC is seeking a year round, live-on-site caretaker couple. This is a salaried position for a mature couple seeking long-term employment to start in spring 2021.
Quadra Island is adjacent to Campbell River and is accessible via a BC Ferries car ferry that runs 7 days a week. One of the most desirable islands along Discovery Passage, It is a friendly thriving community surrounded by nature at its finest. The Island offers miles of hiking trails, lake and ocean fishing, mushroom hunting, kayaking and more!
The owners live on the 30 acre waterfront property year round and are looking for an easy going mature couple to help keep everything in tip top shape. The property includes 3 houses, a boathouse, dock, workshop, out-buildings, an orchard and organic gardens.
Hours will vary according to the season. The spring, summer and autumn months are much busier with property maintenance and gardening. In the winter you would be free much of the time to pursue other interests or to work off property.
As caretakers, you will live in a 1200 square foot 2 bedroom historic cottage (totally modernized) only steps from the beach. Watch eagles, seals, and whales from your living room window. Enjoy snow covered mountain vistas in the distance. A dock is available for your boat; the area is known for world class salmon fishing.
Duties:
Handyman/Gardening:
- Physically able to work outdoors and climb ladders.
- Handyman/carpentry knowledge and abilities.
- General gardening knowledge with experience mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, removing fallen limbs, tree pruning, weeding, flower/vegetable planting, and organic garden maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate mowers and other equipment including power and hand tools.
- General home maintenance and experience with generators, plumbing, gutters, wood trim, fencing etc.
- Experience servicing trucks, mowers, and other equipment.
Housekeeping:
- General housekeeping experience. Capable of cleaning and upkeep of homes on the property

Cleaning responsibilities to include:
- Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, mudrooms, and porches.
- General dusting, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, grill, and fireplace cleaning.
- Laundry to include washing, drying, and folding of towels, linens, and owner’s clothing. May include some ironing.
- Coordinating with owner regarding grocery needs. May include some shopping and food prep/cooking.
- Driving owner/guests around the area and to and from airports etc may be required occasionally.
General Requirements:
- Couple should have experience in housekeeping and grounds keeping at a ranch, or estate.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Must have the ability to work independently, identify problems, and find solutions.
- Both parties must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a criminal background screen.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- No children living at home.
- Pets are discouraged due to the deer and wild animals that live on the property but may be considered if well trained.
- Note: smoking is not allowed in provided housing.

Work Campers-Campground - Poplar Bluff, MO

Open year round. Need a couple now November 2020 and throughout the 2021 season. Our RV Campground is looking for Workamper couples to help with the everyday duties of running a campground. We would like couples looking for "year round or long term" placement.
We offer compensation and provide a full hookup RV site with, water, sewer, electric 30/50amp, free cable TV 61 channels, and free WiFi. We also provide a cart, tools, and supplies for your duties. We DO NOT charge you with a site fee. We appreciate couples being on the grounds should we need them. We are close to town for your shopping, dining, and miscellaneous needs with a country atmosphere.
Town has a large VA Hospital and a large regular hospital. Food companies deliver to your site.
Some paper work and cleaning takes place each morning as needed; general maintenance, cleaning facilities and site clean-up, as needed. NO computer skills needed. NO fire pits to clean. NO ground tents. NO pool to clean. NO pet waste station removal. NO cabins to clean. You are not physically working all the time when on duty. Many times you will just be watching and waiting for RVs to arrive. When they do just register and escort them to their site.

We are a start up Tiny Home / Rv community and are seeking a seasoned person(s) to manage and grow with the community. The role of manager is to provide daily management ops with emphasis on attracting desired community residents. The primary objectives are to increase occupancy and to promote those homes onsite that are for sale.
Duties related to the Management position below:
Promoting and showing existing properties, develop good relations with existing residents and potential residents
Oversee any repair or mantainence work on premises, vetting vendors and obtaining bids, managing budget for work requested
Prepare new lease up documentation, provide new resident info for current database updates. Maintain records and accounting of all transactions handled.
Provide onsite followup for leads generated through marketing efforts, provide content (pictures/media/events/news) to marketing for social media and website presence on a weekly basis
Oversee WorkCamper program, provide scheduling , verify work and hours weekly, plan for seasonal change of workcampers, provide daily tools needed for work and ensure inventory accounted for and secured at end of their work shift, plan appropriate duties for appropriate workcamper
Make prompt same deposits to bank account for any funds collected.
Monthly Water Meter Reading, submit readings to accounting.
Development of our Airbnb program , over see rental is in good repair and ensure in meticulous cleanliness prior to a guest arriving.
Handle resident inquiries, know NM tenant laws, provide resident notifications, submit documents for process serving, filing of court documents , appearances in any court proceedings should an eviction be required
Assist in oversite of community oriented projects such as establishing community garden, compost, and other projects as needed. Most of these types of endeavors will be via volunteers within the community that desire to organize /create and implement the project with prior Owner approval
Enforce community rules , encourage participation in community watch group, create a sense of community
Desired qualities:
- Good knowledge of property management and maintenance
- General understanding of construction, electrical, heating and other building systems
- Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines
- Efficient organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact professionally with tenants, vendors and maintenance teams
- Knowledge of real estate laws and guidelines
- Proficiency with word processing software and related tools
This Position requires manager live onsite. We can provide full hookups for those with their own Tiny Home/RV or we will provide housing onsite. This is a 1099 contract position to start.
