REMOTE ALASKA FISHING LODGE- Caretaking Couple Needed - near Ketchikan, AK

Yes Bay Lodge is located in beautiful Alaska. We are 50 miles outside of Ketchikan in the Tongass National Rainforest.
We are looking for a couple who loves being outside, remote, dogs, and fishing! We are only accessible by float plane or boat. Our season is June-September but need full time caretakers.
We have on-site houses as well as our lodge for guests. The lodge is completely off-grid and is run off generators. We are looking for a couple that is hard working, self-sufficient, personable, positive, problem solvers who can think outside the box to make things work.
Compensation includes salary, housing, food.

As a Home Manager, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to two adult male roommates in their private home. Responsibilities include providing direct care to both residents, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, and supervising a team of caregivers who also work within the home. The founders of the company have over 35 years of combined experience in the disability field and started the company in this exact position, strong support will be offered.
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 depending on experience for the designated manager, and a comparable hourly rate for the spouse depending on experience, tasks, and job duties.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health status.
Support residents with personal hygiene and toileting needs while ensuring dignity and respect.
Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement.
Engage residents in social and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals.
Supervise and develop a team of caregivers within the home, ensuring smooth and consistent service delivery.
Provide clear, direct, and solution based communication with all involved.
Skills/ Requirements
Experience in caregiving. Strong understanding of intellectual and developmental disability care principles and practices.
Ability to work effectively in both home and community settings.

Position Overview:
As the Managers of Las Plumerias Surf Lodge, you will oversee the daily operations, manage a small team, and deliver unforgettable experiences for our guests. This role is ideal for a couple who shares a passion for hospitality, surfing, and sustainable tourism. You will live on-site and work together to create a welcoming and well-run environment while enjoying the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Nicaragua.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
• Oversee all lodge operations, including front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, and groundskeeping.
• Ensure the property is well-maintained and all systems run efficiently.
• Handle bookings, guest check-ins/outs, and scheduling.
2. Guest Experience:
• Create a welcoming atmosphere and deliver personalized, high-quality guest experiences.
• Organize and promote activities, including surf lessons, yoga sessions, and local excursions.
• Address guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
3. Team Management:
• Recruit, train, and supervise local staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Provide daily support and clear direction to ensure smooth operations.
4. Financial Oversight:
• Monitor budgets, control expenses, and ensure financial goals are met.
• Track lodge revenue and maintain accurate financial records.
• Implement strategies to optimize revenue, including upselling activities and services.
5. Marketing and Outreach:
• Manage social media accounts and promote the lodge’s offerings to attract new guests.
• Build and maintain relationships with travel agencies, surf schools, and other partners.
• Respond to online reviews and maintain the lodge’s positive reputation.
6. Sustainability and Community Engagement:
• Implement eco-friendly practices and support the lodge’s sustainability goals.
• Build relationships with the local community, sourcing locally and promoting responsible tourism.
Qualifications (for both individuals):
• Experience: At least 2-3 years of combined experience in hospitality, tourism, or related fields. Boutique lodge, surf camp, or eco-resort experience is preferred.
• Languages: Fluency in English and conversational Spanish and French (or a willingness to learn).
• Skills: Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Basic maintenance, accounting, and marketing knowledge are a plus.
• Personality: Warm, adaptable, and team-oriented with a shared passion for hospitality, sustainability, and the outdoors.
Additional Requirements:
• One partner should have basic knowledge of property maintenance (plumbing, electrical, etc.) or be willing to handle light repairs and oversee contractors.
• Both partners should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage diverse tasks collaboratively.

- Ensure Kronos is being reviewed, approved daily, and complete payroll reports on a daily/weekly basis for all CG/CS personnel.
- Oversee accounting procedures: proper bank storage, accurate cashier reports, cash drops, and handling of payments and refunds on the Lodging Management System.
- Managers at Madison Campground and Fishing Bridge RV Park will also handle the Controller functions for their operations following correct procedures as trained by GAO.
- Ensure daily paperwork is completed in a timely manner and accurately, including daily reports, Manager’s Log, EOA form, and guest refund tracking sheets.
- Control the inventory of supplies and forms and ensure inventories are taken prior to orders being placed.
- Assure timely inspections and repair of CG/CS facilities.
- Organize and maintain CG/CS records and equipment in accordance with Lodging Department policies.
- Ensure PCI Compliance guidelines are trained, followed, and enforced.
- Ensure lost and found and Key Security policies are trained, followed, and enforced.
- Ensure that the CG/CS staff is following Xanterra’s environmental policies and procedures.
- Become familiar with and train emergency fire evacuation and safety procedures as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Strong management skills, including ability to supervise and motivate employees.

Physical Requirements:
- Standing for long periods of time and walking up in down stairs as well as outdoors
- Lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching outward and above the shoulder for up to 6 hours per shift.
- Repetitive motion of arms, wrist, and hands for up to 7 hours per shift.
- Moving boxes of firewood and bags of ice outward and above the shoulder to a maximum height of 5’6” for extended periods.
