Caretaker Couple near Little Rock, Arkansas
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Lakeside Country Club is located just outside Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a wooded area with a 300 acre lake. It was originally created in the 1920’s as a retreat from the “city”. It is NOT a country club in the common sense of the term (no golf). It is a hunting/fishing/social club in the COUNTRY. The member ship is limited to 225. It is very modestly priced with dues only $ 600 per year. Back in the “old days”, a limited number of cabins were allowed to be built. About 40 cabins still remain. The cabins are individually owned by members and the club has no direct responsibility for them. The club has a clubhouse with a restaurant that is currently open on week-ends. Since it only serves members and their guests, the restaurant is more of a “service” to the membership rather than a profit center, but the caretakers can make a small profit ..., especially if they like to cater private member parties or “create” member social events. The club wants the restaurant to be available (thus part of the caretaker job description), but we are very flexible regarding ways to make it worth your while. Basic grounds upkeep is necessary which includes significant seasonal activity (i.e. leaf control, mowing). Security is largely provided by a coded gate, but the caretaker should always be aware of who is on the property. The physical part of the job is not that hard, but it is 24/7. The club is regularly used for hunting and fishing (not trophy caliber), but we also have an interest in caretakers who can create a social environment that enhances the membership experience. We have always had a caretaker COUPLE, but that is not written in stone…it’s just our comfort zone. Two people who can maintain our clubhouse, grounds AND provide a stimulating social experience will be welcomed!
Our beloved caretakers (5 years) have found their “dream opportunity” that takes them away from us. We provide a modest salary and housing. The caretakers cabin is a very nice three bedroom/two bath modern log cabin.
Our current caretakers are leaving at the end of January 2011.
Considered applicants should be able to pass background, credit and drug test.
Thanks again for your interest.
