Domestic Estate Couple - Toronto, ON

Seeking an experienced domestic couple for a formal style residence; position is full time, open for live in or live out and located in the Forest Hill area of Toronto, Ontario.  Applicants should be flexible with schedules, available for travel to United States and have a team player style & attitude.  Applicants must have previous experience in private service for all elements of residential maintenance, culinary, formal food & beverage service, inventories and service to principals.

Position Overview:

The positions will be responsible for the day to day activities of the residence and property, hands on participation for interior and exterior care to maintain high standards and efficiency.  Position will require staff to travel to USA vacation residence for winter season.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Day to day running of the residence and property.
• Full participation with housekeeping, laundry, iron and wardrobe management.
• Care of fine furnishings and finishes.
• Hands on care for the general interior maintenance.
• Scheduling and supervision of trades / vendors / landscapers for seasonal work year round.
• Monitoring household budgets and costs for vendors & trades.
• Organize and manage household inventories, closets and storage areas.
• Planning and assisting with regular entertaining for private & social events.
• Running of errands and grocery shopping.
• Daily cooking for family style meals, table settings and service.
• Food & beverage service for family & guests.
• Managing weekly floral arrangements and seasonal décor for holidays.
• Pet care and supervision.
• Greeting of guests and visitors.
• Answering of telephone and taking messages.
• Vehicle management.
• Yearly travel to USA vacation property for winter season.

 Applicant Qualities:

• Previous experience working in a semi-formal / formal style of residence is a must. 
• Applicants must be service oriented and self-starters. 
• Excellent housekeeping & laundry skills for care and treatment of fine furnishings and finishes a must.
• Good cooking skills with formal style food & beverage service.
• Experienced with event planning, floral arrangements and seasonal décor planning.
• Knowledgeable with practical handy man experience and management of trades & vendors.
• Applicants should be energetic with a strong work ethic, strong communication skills and ability to anticipate needs of principals.
• Applicants should have a neat and polished appearance.
• Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Uniform if required provided by employer.
• One person must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Applicants eligible to work in Canada will be given first consideration.
• Must be flexible with schedules and travel with out restrictions to USA for winter season, must hold valid passports.

Salary dependent on experience and previous employment.
