Building Manager Couple - Winnipeg, MB

Building Manager Couples play a critical role in the successful operations of our apartment complexes and in the overall success of Timbercreek. This role is primarily responsible for the general management and oversight of the property and for the supervision of staff to ensure that a superior level of co-operation, service and support is provided to tenants thereby ensuring that Timbercreek is the preferred land lord of choice. This role is full-time, live-in position. Customer Service: • Ensure that a superior level of cooperation, service and support is provided to tenants • Promptly respond to tenant issues and service requests Leasing: • Must demonstrate excellent sales/leasing skills by minimizing vacancy (maintaining an occupancy rate of 100%) • Shows prospective tenants available suites, processes tenant applications and lease agreements • Responsible for enforcing the terms of lease agreements, such as rent collection, rules and regulations, and following procedures of serving notices to tenants Operations: • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the building (general maintenance and cleaning) • Ensure the apartment complex is maintained and cleaned in accordance with company standards • Pro-actively inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment to determine if repairs or preventative maintenance is required • Responsible for "move-in, move-out" procedures. • Assists in training on-site staff (Assistant Building Managers, Maintenance Associates and Cleaners) on Operational procedures • Ability to represent company at Landlord Tenant Board hearings • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education and Experience: • Completion of High School or general education degree (GED) • 2+ years of related experience in a customer service or related role • Exposure to the multi-residential or other related industry asset class would be considered an asset • WHMIS certification would be an asset • Experience with Fire Life Safety & Building Inspections would be an asset • Knowledge of current laws, legislation and rights concerning tenants would be an asset Technical Skills: • Building / Property Maintenance • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting • Proficient with use of basic handheld and electrical tools • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Yardi, email, internet) Other: • Must be willing to live on-site • Flexibility to work on-call on a rotating schedule (evenings & weekends)

Candidates must have a recognised culinary diploma/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years experience managing a high-volume kitchen. This is a hands-on role, with responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day food preparation, menu planning, supervision and training of staff, catering for special events, Ordering and Inventory control, upholding Health, Safety & Hygiene policies, and liaison with FOH management & staff. FOH - With the opening of our new Coffee Shop & Rum Bar we are seeking candidates with a high level of training in Baristing and Mixology on top of F&B Service experience. Applicants must have minimum of 3 years experience working in a high-volume resorts, must be extremely proficient in MICROS or similar POS systems and have a strong background in food, wine & cocktail presentation. The following qualifications would be an advantage: STCW95, Professional Bartending, Responsible Service Of Alcohol, Wine & Wine Paring, Mixology and Baristing. Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written with an excellent telephone manner. Fluency in other languages would be a distinct advantage. All applicants must be willing to live full-time on the island, working split-shifts, evenings, weekends & public holidays and must be able to live in close quarters with other employees. A one year Work Permit is required for all Nationalities subject to approval by the Labour and Immigration Departments, so if you have a criminal record or major health issues approval will be denied.
