REQUIREMENTS:
Work hours are M-F, 10am-4pm with a 30 minute lunch break and weekends off (except for occasional appointments, open houses, and possible emergencies). Individuals must possess an attitude of self-motivation.
We offer excellent compensation & possible advancement opportunities. Candidates must pass a background and credit check, but perfect credit is not required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Computer skills required (Microsoft office)
Prior Property Management experience a plus, but not required.
Ability to effectively communicate with residents, vendors, employees and supervisors
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Hire, train and motivate personnel
Rent Collection
Eviction process as necessary
Fill Vacancies (if applicable)
Home sales (if applicable)
Prepare Monthly reports
Maintain organized resident files
Enforce community rules/regulations and follow all applicable safety procedures
Promote positive resident relations through various programs; newsletters, activities, potlucks, etc.

About the Position:
Building Manager plays a critical role in the successful operations of our apartment complexes and in the overall success of Timbercreek. This role is primarily responsible for the general management and oversight of the property and for the supervision of staff to ensure that a superior level of co-operation, service and support is provided to tenants thereby ensuring that Timbercreek is the preferred land lord of choice. This role is full-time, live-in position.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
• Ensure that a superior level of cooperation, service and support is provided to tenants
• Promptly respond to tenant issues and service requests
Leasing:
• Must demonstrate excellent sales/leasing skills by minimizing vacancy (maintaining an occupancy rate of 100%)
• Shows prospective tenants available suites, processes tenant applications and lease agreements
• Responsible for enforcing the terms of lease agreements, such as rent collection, rules and regulations, and following procedures of serving notices to tenants
Operations:
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the building (general maintenance and cleaning)
• Ensure the apartment complex is maintained and cleaned in accordance with company standards
• Pro-actively inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment to determine if repairs or preventative maintenance is required
• Responsible for “move-in, move-out” procedures.
• Assists in training on-site staff (Assistant Building Managers, Maintenance Associates and Cleaners) on Operational procedures
• Ability to represent company at Landlord Tenant Board hearings
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
• Completion of High School or general education degree (GED)
• 2+ years of related experience in a customer service or related role
• Exposure to the multi-residential or other related industry asset class would be considered an asset
• WHMIS certification would be an asset
• Experience with Fire Life Safety & Building Inspections would be an asset
• Knowledge of current laws, legislation and rights concerning tenants would be an asset
Technical Skills:
• Building / Property Maintenance
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting
• Proficient with use of basic handheld and electrical tools
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Yardi, email, internet)
Other:
• Must be willing to live on-site
• Flexibility to work on-call on a rotating schedule (evenings & weekends)
