Malcolm Knapp Research Forest Caretakers - Maple Ridge, BC

UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest is seeking an energetic, organized, and self-directed couple with a positive attitude. The couple will maintain the caretaker’s residence on-site at Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, as well as complete light renovation work on the caretaker house. The caretaker is responsible for being on-site during non-office hours (before 8am and after 4pm weekdays; all weekends and stats) and for maintaining a security presence at the main entrance where the caretaker residence is situated.
This position is for the University of British Columbia’s Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The caretaker house is a 1250 sq. foot, 3 bedroom 1 bath home built in the 1960’s. One onsite parking garage/storage garage is also included.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Maintain caretaker home and perform light renovation work
· Provide security during all non-office hours
· Perform all required grounds keeping duties around the caretaker house
Requirements:
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to work with minimal direction
· Good customer service skills
· Strong project follow through
· Ability to pass a background check
· Authorized to work in Canada
· English, written and spoken
· Non-smoker
Assets (not required):
· Background in security
· Security training course(s)

Workcamper Couples needed at Florida Resort - Welaka, FL

Come spend your summer on the St. John’s River in a beautiful setting where you can boat, fish, kayak, canoe, bird watch, hike or relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets. Welaka Lodge is a small, rural resort located in the little town of Welaka, Florida right on the banks of the St. John’s.
We have 4 workcamper commitments for the spring and summer of 2014 and would like 2 more couples to complete our team. The remaining positions can begin immediately and will continue through the summer months.
Since we only require 10 hours of work per person, you’ll have lots of time for fun activities. In addition to the river, you’ll be less than an hour from great beaches, historic Old St. Augustine, Marineland, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park & lots of other attractions!
In exchange for the work hours, we offer a 50 amp full hookup site with wi-fi. You also receive reduced food and beverage rates at our onsite Boathouse Dock Bar. Duties for one include keeping our beautiful cottages spotless (and working in the office if staying long term), while the other handles light outdoor maintenance.

Secluded fee for use area, located in the chaparral covered northern San Bernardino National Forest is looking the proper individual/couple who is looking for a Southern California RV location.
Conveniently located close to I-15/215, and 210 Freeways, Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino are easily accessed. The facility is located at the 4,400’ elevation in the shadow of Mt. Baldy, highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountain range, and the Sheep Mountain Wilderness Area, in the Lytle Creek Canyon drainage. The adjoining communities are still rural, however a large mall and other amenities are a half hour drive. Low humidity without extreme temperatures makes for a comfortable environment the majority of the year.
Activities in a developing controlled shooting range, includes the use firearms and archery equipment from designated locations at designated targets. This is a controlled use area, a tolerance of firearms is expected, it is open 7 days a week and closes at 16:00 and opens at 08:00, the hosts are expected to maintain a presence on the property afterhours, as a deterrent to unauthorized entry.
The applicants should be mature/responsible individuals/couples who are self sufficient, reliable, dedicated to a commitment, and independent. A tolerance of firearms and shooting activities is expected. The facility is active from 08:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, and light traffic on the paved road after hours.
Positions are seasonal. Applicants are expected to have a clean, self-contained RV, should be able to provide proof of insurance, and current registration, tow behind vehicle is a plus. The host area is separated from shooting area by approximately 70 yards. Currently conditions are primitive. However, sanitation needs are serviced weekly, potable water will be supplied, as well as an alternative power source, propane, and satellite internet. Amenities are in the works.
Pets are acceptable, as long as shots are current and they are kept under control.
Local activities include hiking, fishing, hunting, bird watching, stargazing, 4 wheeling, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, gold mining/panning, and peace and quiet.
This could be a fine situation for active retirees who enjoy the seclusion of the outdoors and enjoy people in moderation.
3-24 hours/week/couple may be available depending on experience and our work requirements. Financial compensation commensurate with activities performed, must be bondable.
