Professional Domestic Couple - Palm Beach, FL and Westchester, NY

Private Upper East Side couple seeks an experienced Live-In Domestic Couple, Wednesday – Sunday, to oversee, manage, and maintain their secondary 22-acre estate in Westchester County (7 bedrooms,) as well as their third property in Palm Beach, FL. The position consists of a 5-day workweek while in Westchester and a six day week with considerable evenings free and downtime in Palm Beach for the season (four months). The clients reside primarily in their NYC residence, and travel to their Westchester home from Friday afternoons through Sunday evenings weekly from March to December. A completely separate guesthouse will be provided with staff quarters including a private room and bath, and all transportation costs and associated expenses will be covered.
The ideal couple will have experience working in a formal and/or semi-formal home, with full knowledge of formal service, though not required daily. The couple will have a strong desire to work hands-on in a residence where an extremely close-knit relationship will be built between the principals and their staff.
Culinary has a strong emphasis on this position and the ideal couple will possess an interest to cater full-time to the food-related needs of the clients. No dietary restrictions or allergies exist. Entertaining will take place in both residences every three weeks to 1 month, where dinner parties will be thrown for up to 12 guests.
No pets and no young children reside in either home; however, there will be opportunities when their grown children and grandchildren do come to visit.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Managing and providing full-time care and protection for the family’s secondary Westchester residence from March through December, as well as transitioning that care and protection to their Palm Beach residence from December to March
• Coordinating maintenance for the home’s amenities including pool, tennis court, landscaping, etc., as well as overseeing specialized vendors for each amenity
• Managing additional household staff
• Ensuring the property is beautifully maintained and guest-ready at all times
• Museum quality cleaning throughout the home with attention to bedrooms, special surfaces and bathrooms, etc.
• Full laundry duties for the couple family including washing, ironing, steaming, closet organization, managing a list of garments that have been sent out for professional service, etc.
• Packing and unpacking clothes for travel, as well as preparing their second and third residences in advance of arrival
• Preparing fresh, simple and delicious meals for the Mr. and Mrs. on a daily basis, with an emphasis on beautiful plating and presentation
• Serving meals as needed and providing formal service upon request for luncheons, dinner parties, etc. including table set-up, floral arrangements, bartending, wine pouring and pairing and guest greeting & socialization
• Driving the principals as needed to and from the City, in tandem with their full-time driver when he is unavailable
• Purchasing and arranging flowers within the home, as well as ensuring the aesthetic of the home is beautifully maintained .
• Heavy organization throughout the home including pantries, kitchen, closets, etc.
• Assisting with Personal Assistant related duties as needed including shopping, stock level management, special requests, etc.
• Additional Domestic Couple-related tasks and responsibilities, both macro and micro, as needed or upon request
Requirements:
• Excellent command of the English language; Spanish a strong plus but not required
• Minimum 5 - 7+ years related professional experience serving as a Domestic Couple for a private family
• Exceptional organization skills and multitask management; able to undertake both macro as well as micro projects in and around the residence
• Professional mindset and manor; constant use of discretion and confidentiality a must
• Incredibly “hands-on,” – able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong housekeeping experience, including care of antiques and special surfaces, in tandem with the Housekeeper
• Strong laundry abilities including ironing, steaming, closet organization and maintenance, as well as heavy organization, etc.
• Strong property management skills including maintenance, carpentry, handyman/houseman skills and landscaping
• Wine knowledge and ability to perform formal service, as well as bartending
• Strong cooking and presentation skills with an emphasis on fresh, healthy and simple seasonally-based meals; OK to prepare fare for the clients on a daily basis
• Flexible in scheduling; OK to work both long hours and overtime as needed
• Valid Drivers Licenses?; confident drivers with zero points, willing and able to drive client minimally as needed
• Legally able to work in the United States for any employer

- Answer all incoming calls without unnecessary delay and within established company guidelines. Promptly greet and provide excellent customer service to walk-in and telephone customers. - Provide prompt, courteous and reliable service with regard to taking/receiving customer payments – let the customer know that we appreciate their business.
- Work to promptly resolve customer problems and complaints, keeping the DM informed and involved as needed to reach an equitable solution for the customer and the company and to establish lasting customer satisfaction
- Ensure that the self storage property, including building(s), units, grounds and parking areas are maintained in the highest standard of quality with regard to cleanliness, safety and visual appearance to retain competitive advantage. Perform daily/weekly property maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning units, sweeping, mopping, removing debris, wiping windows, etc., as established by company policy and outlined in the Property Operations Guide.
- Ensure that the property is open for business at all times at the established times of the day and days of the week and that lights, gates, elevators, doors, etc. are in good working order (or are promptly reported for repair).
- Ensure that adequate customer supply sales inventory is maintained, e.g., packing boxes, tape, and door locks, etc.
- Promptly and accurately prepare, maintain and update required daily, weekly and monthly reports and submit to the DM for review, verification and approval as established by company policy and outlined in the Property Operations Guide.
- Accurately manage and report daily receipts including manual point-of-service (POS), cash drawer, daily count logs, etc., within the timeline and format established by company policy and outlined in the Property Operations Guide.
- Make daily bank deposit runs and maintain accurate bank deposit records.
- Conduct a daily storage unit inspection confirming inventory availability and ensuring each unit is secured and rent ready.
- Work closely with District manager to receive training and coaching when needed, striving to exceed all company expectations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education, must have High School degree or equivalent G.E.D. and minimum one year related retail sales experience and/or property management experience.
- Excellent Communication Skills, both oral and written: must be able to effectively read, write, interpret and communicate safety rules, company and operational policies and procedures, regular and special reports, correspondence, lease agreements, etc.
- Good Mathematical Skills, must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, circumference and volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Excellent Reasoning Ability, must be able to solve practical problems applying concrete as well as subjective variables to reach an equitable and satisfactory solution for the customer and the company, and ability to understand how individual tasks/functions relate to a broader task/goal/function. Good ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Good Computer Skills, Must have a working knowledge of computer system (PC), related software and business machines, must be proficient with Intranet navigation, Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent), copier/printer/fax, cash register and point-of-service (POS) software, etc.
- Professional Appearance and Work Ethic, must at all times present a professional image in accordance with established company standards including excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively resolve disputes, promote the company’s business and attract/retain customers.
