We offer a lovely large semi-private living area with master bedroom suite (full bathroom & two closets). Fully Furnished Living Room with Fireplace/Pellet Stove, Large, Flat Screen TV, basic Dish Service, DVR and Surround Sound to yourself, where you can kick back and relax! The living area walks out your own private entry to a covered patio/court yard and grassy area. Also outside and once connected, you will have shared use of the hot tub in season. Your own private use kitchenette/bar with means of cooking and a full size refrigerator. Laundry and work out room on your level are shared. Your approximate living area would be 2000-2500 sq. ft. Our home is situated on a hill with a surrounding acreage and is lovely at best! It is located on the West side of Greeley, CO with views of rolling pastures and corn fields leading to the Rcky Mountain range to the west. And the city lights to the East.
We are in our mid-fifities, married 35 years in Aug, and with me beginning a new career which is taking me away from the house more hours a week since losing my mom this past year, I need someone to help do the things I normally do by myself. I am willing to still help and cover time/days off or away but need to know who is here is resonsible, trustworthy and treats the animals and home as I would, and as their own.
We are not opposed to one person working full time outside of the home or both working part time outside the home. However, we recognize if both parties are working outside the home full time, there is truly no desire to come home from work to have to start work there too. It can be done, but assuring you from first hand knowledge as well as past situaitions, it leads to burn out and a failed arrangement. We wish for this to be successful and a pleasant experience for all involved and a home you want to spend time at!
In turn, we need assistance with caring for our 7 horses, 2 ponies and 15 chickens. These chores are very streamlined, as I am 54 years old and doing everything on my own. Therefore, I had to make it as physically and time friendly as possible. Additionally, we need assistance caring for the yard -from basic maintenance, weeding and help with streamlining the back yard for easy care, to help with watering the whole yard when we are not home enough to do it ourselves.
It requires getting to know our dogs and care for them when we are away from home.
We have different tasks we work on from time to time (ie; clean-up projects and/or fencing for example) and assistance with these things as they come up will be appreicated and expected when the other tasks are not too time demanding & allow fair time and opportunity for help.
The barn chores average LESS than an hour a day in the afternoon as long as everything stays caught up with. You can have involvement and hands on with the horses if interested, but not necessary to complete the routine chores. In the winter there is less to do around here and a lot more free time! With that said, and spring/summer coming up, if we get on top of the weeds early, they can be managed easier; but the back hillside will take some gardening and yard time to keep up each week and the amount of time all depends on how fast you work at it. I prefered to work on it in the cool hours of the morning, no bugs and not too hot since it is South facing, but it's a personal prefernce matter.
The tasks we need assistance with are not overly intensive IN MY opinion, but if you don't like getting your hands dirty, or love spending time with/around animals and enjoy gardening, then this is definitely not the situation for you! On the other side, if you love animals, don't mind a little dirt and manure, love working in and helping to set up a pretty yard, then indeed, send us your information!
