16 Room Motel Inn Keepers - Lauderdale By The Sea, FL

Immediate couples opening to manage, at a 16 room motel in Lauderdale By The Sea. This position is great for couples that are self-motivated and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Work pace may vary depending on season. We are looking for a couple with customer service, computer / office skills and some maintenance experience. Responsibilities also include housekeeping, laundry and other duties that relate to our vacation rental business. Please do not call the motel.

Hours:

Live in – Hours are as needed to complete all daily tasks and on call for check- ins/check-outs and reservations

Salary - $35,000/ yr including possible accommodation

Job Duties include:

*Checking in guests, accepting payments and room inventory scheduling

*Daily updating of motel software

* Daily house cleaning and trash removal, including making of beds, bathroom and toilet cleaning, dusting, sweeping and mopping

*Daily Laundry of towels & sheets, drying and folding of same

* Daily general cleaning, cigarette removal and sweeping of exterior patios and walkways

* Daily cleaning of patio furniture surfaces

* Daily removal of plant debris from pool

*Weekly trash container set-out

Couple Wanted to Manage Small Motel - Pompano Beach, FL

We are looking for a non smoking mature couple or a single individual with no children for a permanent, live in manager position for a small 9 room motel on the beach in South Florida (Pompano Beach) to start in the fall.

WE ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR COUPLE WHO HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE MANAGING OR WORKING IN A MOTEL OR B&B FOR NO LESS THAN ONE YEAR. Must be AVAILABLE TO INTERVIEW IN PERSON. Bilingual a plus but not required.

You will handle the running of the whole property, from reservations, check in check out, cleaning rooms ,laundry, maintenance, landscaping and the care of the swimming pool. There is no other staff, so you are expected to be able to perform all these duties yourselves. Must have prior motel or B&B experience. Must have experience in light maintenance/handyman skills. Strong computer skills are also needed as the reservations system is computerized and there will be online marketing.

This is a seven day a week job. It does not require all of your attention all the time, but you must pay attention to details all of the time and be available to the guests. Compensation is a studio apartment, all utilties paid, including phone, direct TV and internet. and $1500/month for the couple.

Job 1: Lodge Manager

Blachford Lake Lodge is an upscale Northern fly-in wilderness resort, located 100km east of Yellowknife in Canada’s Northwest Territories. In the heart of the Canadian wilderness, the lodge is comprised of 5 lodge rooms and 5 guest cabins. While at the lodge, guests can enjoy a variety of seasonal activities as well as the best Northern Lights viewing in the world. Winter guest activities include, but are not limited to cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, hiking, skating, ice fishing, hockey, handicrafts, wildlife tracks, aurora viewing and other winter activities. In the summer guest activities include, but are not limited to fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, shore lunches, fall aurora viewing, and hiking.

As the General Lodge Manager, it is your job to make sure that every guest has an incredible and memorable stay at Blachford Lake Lodge. You are responsible for meeting the needs of every guest and group that arrives at the lodge, from meet and greet on the lake, to fond farewells at the same site when they leave. You are responsible for overseeing and organizing, as well as assisting and directing of all of the lodge operations, including but not limited to Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Site Grooming, Office Administration, Capital Projects, Guest Activities and Staff Management.

Preferable Qualifications:

· Wilderness first aid or higher

· Food Safe Certificate

· Liquor Serving Certificate

· Driver’s License (Class 5)

· Boat/Pleasure Craft License

· Chainsaw Operators License

· PAL/Firearms License

· Fall Protection Hazards Certificate

· Ice Safety and Rescue Certificate

· WHIMIS and MSDS Hazardous Waste Certificates

· Post-Secondary Tourism Management, or Resort/Hotel Management considered an asset

· Criminal Record Check

· Previous experience working at a remote wilderness lodge considered an asset

· Previous experience working/living in circum-polar location considered an asset

· Previous guiding experience considered an asset

· Ability to lift 30 lbs

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

You are responsible for overseeing and organizing the use of all lodge machinery and tools, and are responsible for large capital projects, as well as daily maintenance projects. You are also responsible for providing guiding programming for guests be it fishing trips, off grid hiking and camping, snowmobile tours, or more. You thrive on attention to detail and are safety oriented as well as interacting with all groups and guests that arrive at Blachford Lake Lodge. You understand the importance of connecting with guests during their stay, and keeping all systems well maintained to the best of your ability.
