Live-In Caregivers for 84-year-old Male with Partial Paralysis - Los Angeles, Westside, CA

We are searching for a live-in couple to help care for an elderly man while providing minimal assistance and companionship to his elderly wife.  This position offers flexibility with schedules, so long as one person is available 24 hours a day, Sunday evening through Friday evening.  

The main responsibilities of the caregivers are to ensure the safety, hygeine, nutrition and well-being of the elderly man.  He suffered a significant stroke 18 months ago that left him paralyzed on the left side, G-tube dependent, and with significant cognitive impairments.  He is able to bear weight on one foot, but requires maximal assistance transferring from bed to chair, and is approximately 160 pounds. He is incontinent and diapered. Bolus feeds through the G-tube are scheduled. In spite of these challenges, he is intelligent and very verbal, although he often confuses reality with dreams/delusions. Ideally, a patient conversationalist will be at his side when he is awake. Job duties include management and administration of medications, bolus feeding, diapering and daily hygeine, transferring, positioning and range-of-motion exercises, and accompanying the patient to appointments as needed. General light housekeeping, some cooking, and assistance with shopping and errands are required, as well as exercising the family's large, friendly dog.

The home is in a lovely area, walking distance to the beach and accessible to public transportation. The family will provide a private downstairs room and bath, with free access to the common areas of the home (kitchen, living room, dining room, television room, deck and garden.) Internet and cable service are provided, as well as utilities (not cell phone). Food is provided within a set budget, and the couple is free to use the kichen and laundry as needed.

We are located at 7000ft in the high Eastern Sierra of California; Surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains on three sides with ample Exploring, Climbing, Biking, Fishing & Hiking; only a stone’s throw from Yosemite, as well as many other incredible destinations.

We're looking for camp hosting help. A friendly, happy and personable individual or couple, who would like to work 20 hrs a week. Compensation will be a full hookup RV site (incl. electric, water, sewer and WIFI). Yes, you need to own an RV! It is important to us that you are outgoing and genuinely enthusiastic about the area and our clientele.

We're a friendly couple and our camp is known for its relaxed atmosphere and guests. Not your typical RV park; we try to be more of a camping destination than a quick stop over. We have Saturday bonfires and random cookouts where guests join and get to know one another. We're looking for hosts who can help facilitate this atmosphere, who enjoy the area as much as we do, who can share that enthusiasm and who can help us to take care of the camp. We'll make sure you have plenty of time to explore this pristine wilderness but we'll also require you to work. Duties will depend on your skill set but in general: helping people in, answering questions, tending the office, site maintenance, and some landscaping.Depending on your skills, there could be some additional paid work available as well.

We will work with your schedule. Typically, we hire someone from April through October.  We are looking to establish a relationship that may last for many years to come. If you have a dog or/and a kid, even better. We have a 18 month old baby boy Oliver and are dog friendly. Oliver and Clyde would be happy to have another friend to play with.
