Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies. Must be able to take directions, and be self starter. Relate professionally with residents, vendors and other employees. Have drivers license and insurance for Washington. Treat all residents of the community with respect and compassion.

General Manager - Provincetown, MA

We are seeking a full-time, year-round live-in management couple for our newest hotel, located in Provincetown, MA. With 32 guest rooms and majestic views of the moors this is a perfect place to relax and spend endless summer nights.
We are seeking a high energy couple who can assume responsibility for all hotel activities, who have presence and poise in relating to guests, and who possess the organizational and computer skills necessary to manage the office. We are seeking a hard-working, forward-thinking and honest couple who can learn quickly, communicate effectively with us, and offer first-class hospitality while being attentive to the needs of the business. We will offer training.
The manager couple is to perform all duties of running the property: i.e. guest reservations, hospitality and concierge service, preparation and service of a continental breakfast for hotel guests, bed making and laundry, property maintenance, gardening, purchasing and cost control, some accounting of revenue and expenses, and participation in annual renovation projects.
Requirements include exceptional interpersonal skills, polished telephone and email skills, superior attention to detail, computer and organizational skills, some housekeeping and maintenance skills, and the abilities to multi-task, take initiative, and to employ situational thinking. Must be willing to be trained, show excellent follow-through, and be comfortable giving and receiving feedback. Having baking training or formal cooking experience and/or handyperson experience are qualities that would make applicants more attractive to us and that would be utilized at the hotel.This job requires a full-time commitment. Applicants must be familiar and comfortable with the demands of a 24/7 job.
This is a seasonal property, closing at the end of the October, at which time a complete renovation will be done over the winter months.
The manager couple is expected to expedite and support housekeeping, do laundry, supervise and work with the housekeepers to assure that quality standards and timeliness expectations are met. Housekeepers typically work a 30 - 36 hour week over 6 days during the highest occupancy months. The manager couple will be supported by a staff including housekeepers and guest services associates.
Compensation includes salary, as well as a stipend after the first 6 months of employment. We provide an onsite apartment in the hotel with utilities included. This living space cannot accommodate anyone other than the manager couple. We also offer valuable training in revenue and expense management if desired.
Our hotel is non-smoking. We expect that the manager couple will model this by being non-smokers.

Job Responsibilities for Manufactured Housing Community: This position is very much like being the Mayor, Police Chief,Supervisor, Gardener, Maintenance and Civil Engineer. A multi-lingual ability, English/Spanish is preferred. Work hours are a normal day with weekends off. However, individuals must possess an attitude of self-motivation, problem-solving and hands-on approach to the task and objectives of the moment. Being able to prioritize work and budget for the community needs is essential.
Maintenance is the biggest issue. Tasks include mowing lawns in common areas; trimming trees and shrubs; checking laundry area; maintaining septic pumping schedules; contacting the appropriate contractor in the event of an emergency; overseeing all aspects of the community. A daily inspection of the property is expected. Assist residents to maintain their property in a way that enhances the visual and physical comfort of the community at large by giving notice in a respectful manner that compliance with Rules and Regulations is necessary, (this is where the Mayor/Police Chief sales skills come in handy).
Qualifications: We are seeking an energetic, self motivated TEAM (2 PERSONS), who enjoy people. Office work to include rent collections, enforcement of Rules & Regs, physical outdoor duties to include; landscape maintenance and basic handyman services. We are looking to employ long-term employees with strong ETHICS & INTEGRITY, as well as company loyalty and a great attitude. The job requires that you will be comfortable working alone and you must be a SELF STARTER as well as motivated to complete each job in a timely manner while providing unmatched customer service and quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will be a hard working, self starter with property management experience and some maintenance/landscaping experience knowledge.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Rent collection, lease completion, move-ins/outs, deposits, petty cash management.Mow, rake and edge lawns.
