Explore Southern AZ natural areas, stay in your RV a week or a month in trade for light housekeeping and grounds work - Sierra Vista, AZ
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
I live just south of Sierra Vista, AZ near a number of public lands and protected natural areas. I am about 3.5 miles away from the Nature Conservancy's Ramsey Canyon Preserve, which is surrounded by the Coronado National Forest and 12 miles from the visitor center on the BLM’s San Pedro River National Conservation Area. These are places where they seek volunteers.
I recently purchased an older house on about an acre of land. I used to be a seasonal wrangler at guest ranches, but because of a medical condition I have lost strength in my shoulders and dexterity in my hands. It has also reduced my stamina. Certain types of chores wear me out quite a bit.
I am looking for a couple of hours of help a day with some light housekeeping and yard work. Housekeeping-wise I'm looking at chores like dusting, cleaning windows, and even helping me wash a few dishes – it just wears my shoulders and hands out. Yard work-wise some help with watering a few plants, trimming trees and shrubs.
In exchange I offer my property as a free place to park and RV. I do NOT have a developed RV site. I do have outdoor water faucets and I am willing to let one hook up to my electricity. However, since I have a standard household outlet, your amperage would be limited. That circuit has a 20 amp breaker. You would either have to take your self contained RV to a local dump station, or have a wheeled waste tank you could take to dump in an access point for my house’s septic tank. If you have a separate graywater system on your RV and use biodegradable soap's that could be collected and used to water vegetation on the property.
Dogs are a possibility if they do not bark incessantly, do not chase wildlife, and you pick up after them. I have a number of large trees on the property that provide great habitat for birds. I keep water out for them and I get quite a few species visiting.
Timewise if you want to stay a week or two and check the area out that's fine. If you want to stay for a few months that would be great. Our hottest season is June and early July. By mid-July and August we get some strong monsoon rains and temperatures cool down a bit.
Send me an email if this interests you and we could set up a time to chat, answer your questions and discuss more details.
