Caretaker Couple Team - Comins, MI
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Seeking Caretaker Couple Team Private family-oriented hunting and fishing club located in a quiet forest setting in Northern Lower Michigan is looking to hire a friendly and hardworking caretaker couple team. The couple will live onsite in a newly remodeled private cabin on our 1500-acre property, which also consists of a clubhouse and cabins for members and guests.
We are looking for two people to fill two positions. The couple will be responsible for caring for the buildings, preparing meals for members and guests, housekeeping, grounds keeping and general maintenance as needed. Previous caretaker couples have had success working as a team when necessary, but generally divided the workload into two distinct roles. The first position’s duties include planning, preparing, and serving meals to members and guests. Previous experience working in the food service industry is a must. The ideal candidate will be able to comfortably prepare and serve meals for 20 to 30 people (sometimes more). This position also requires cleaning the kitchen after meals and the clubhouse and cabins after members/guests depart. A desire for cleanliness and strong housekeeping skills are also required for this position. The second position is responsible for building, equipment, and grounds maintenance. Basic “Handyman” skills are a necessity and farming skills are a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a tractor and snowplow, light carpentry skills and be able to process wild game. This position requires one to be physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather and on uneven terrain. Candidates must be flexible with work schedules as these are not typical 8-5 jobs and the heaviest club usage is on weekends. They must also be able to take direction, as well as work in unsupervised situations and be able to complete work in a timely manner. These two positions are complete with salary, housing, utilities and other benefits. This is a long-term opportunity for the right couple. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and be drug free. A thorough background check and drug test(s) will be conducted for pre-employment analysis. Candidates must provide professional references in order to qualify for this job. Please respond with resumes for both applicants and a brief description of why you are interested in these positions.
