We are looking for an expereinced property caretaker (husband/wife) team to manage our family mountain lake house on a full time/ year round basis. Primary responsibilites include; interior and exterior buildings and property maintance, cleaning and keeping the property and equipment in top condition. Ideal candidates will be mechanically inclined, willing to "do some of the work",  organized, personalable, ability and desire to interact with our family members and have the skill-set to hire and manage third party contractors.

House Parent Couple - Vancouver, BC

We are seeking a dynamic couple to fill the role of House Parents for Inner Hope’s housing program. This is a live-in ministry opportunity for a married couple who are called to a full-life integration approach to ministry with at-risk youth. Our House Parents reside in The Home and foster a family-style environment for up to four residents aged 16-24, managing daily house life and building meaningful relationships with youth and their families. The Home is designed for long-term growth in residents, and we ask House Parents to commit to at least two years in their role.

Youth who apply to live in The Home are seeking structure, support and accountability in their lives, ideally over a long-term stay. In a substance-free environment shaped by Christian values, the House Parent couple models a healthy relationship and offers residents love, support, and discipleship. It can also be a second home and safe haven for past residents, friends, and family; House Parents nurture this sense of belonging through special events each year.

Remuneration:

• $2500 / month
• $800 / month respite renewal allowance (taxable income)

• The Primary House Parent must be committed and available to the home and its residents on a full-time basis; the Secondary House Parent is employed with Inner Hope half-time and may accept other employment or schooling with consideration for how it will impact the role. • 2 evenings off per week. 1 weekend or 1 week off per month (alternating months).

• Minimum two years of college or university
• Minimum two years of experience working or volunteering with youth, including some experience with inner city youth
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Character, reliability, maturity, and skill level to relate positively with youth and families at risk, and model responsible behaviour
• Acceptable current criminal record check
• Married couple age 25+ (House Parents must be older than residents)
• Knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle (work-related mileage is reimbursed)

Couple/Individual Needed for Caretaker of 160 Acre Property - Walden, CO

We are looking for an individual or couple to live on our 160 acre property near Walden, CO, as caretakers/property managers.  This is a second home for our family and we are there most weekends.  Part of your responsibilities would include monitoring our home during our absence, as well as checking on our outdoor cats during the winter months.       

The property is located at 9000 feet elevation and is accessible year round.  However, winters are long, cold, and snowy, and snow removal and road upkeep are priority.  You would need to be able to operate a skid steer, dump truck with plow, and CAT backhoe.  The entire property is fenced and the fence line must be maintained during the summer to keep out the free-range cattle.  Moose are frequent visitors to the property and often pull down fencing.  In addition, trees often come down on the fence line or across roads so you will need experience with chainsaws.  There are seven lakes and a river that flows through the property, all of which will need to be monitored. 

You would receive a small monthly income based on the experience and skills you would bring to the job.  However, your primary compensation would include staying on-site in a 3 bedroom, 3½ bath, log, caretaker home.  The home is currently furnished, but furniture can be moved to the basement for storage.  We would also cover your utilities, phone, and internet service.
