Vermont State Parks is looking for a couple / pair to live and work at Knight Island State Park, Vermont, from May 2nd through September 11th. We are looking for two people that will be responsible for the day to day operations and upkeep of Knight Island and nearby Woods Island State Parks.
Knight Island is a remote 158-acre island located on Lake Champlain’s Inland Sea, and 125-acre Woods Island is located nearby. Both offer picturesque remote camping for visitors on a total of 12 sites between the two islands. Responsibilities include campsite cleaning and upkeep, trail maintenance, mowing, weed-whacking, and privy cleaning. Will also be responsible for monitoring visitors on campsites and taking walk-in reservations. May also include transporting some visitors to and from campsites from mainland by 22’ boat. The responsibilities will be split between two positions, one assuming the role of Park Manager and the other as Park Attendant.
OUPV / 6 Pack Inland License is preferred for Park Manager, powerboat experience is required for both positions. CPR/First aid or higher medical certification is required. Must be physically fit as these positions require significant walking and physical labor.
These are paid, full-time seasonal positions with housing included. Accommodations are in a one-bedroom two-story cabin with full kitchen, solar electricity, and outhouse.

A 100+ year old private hunting and fishing club in East Texas is looking for an experienced Club Manager couple to manage the staff, the lake and grounds and daily operations. The club is located on a 500+ acre private hunting and fishing reserve in Leesburg, Texas just 7 miles West of Pittsburg. The club includes a 350-acre stocked lake, adjoining nature trails and forest, boathouses, and a 19 bedroom clubhouse with full-service kitchen and dining facilities.
We are seeking an experienced professional couple who have a passion for people, the outdoors, food, service and quality. The successful candidates will be the primary point of contact with the club board, club members and guests and they will have a small team to run a front desk, a full service kitchen, housekeeping, and boathouse operations.
The Club Manager’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delighting members and guests with first class front desk service to include guest reservations, guest check-in/check-out, gift shop sales, and tending to ad hoc requests.
- Leading and inspiring kitchen and housekeeping staff through effective management and engagement strategies and ensuring standards are consistent with club standards;
- With a high level of integrity and a keen attention to detail, executing all account and finance related processes to include vendor management and accounts payable, payroll and member payments at checkout;
- Adding value to the club though creative event planning. The Club Manager will plan and oversee all events, meetings, gatherings and tournaments to meet the Club’s quality and service standards;
- Maintaining an efficient operating budget including labor, inventory, utilities, equipment, maintenance, and all other expenses required to operate the clubhouse.
- Managing the oversight, upkeep and general maintenance of boathouses, dry storage, and members boats and equipment as directed;
- Coordinating maintenance and construction activities related to grounds, buildings, nature trails and erosion control;
- Performing routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment, infrastructure and buildings and facilities.
Requirements:
5+ years of Hospitality Management experience including Front Desk and Food Service operations
Experience with event management and operations
Proficiency with MS Office Suite products and Quickbooks
Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills
Personal Traits: integrity, positivity, creativity, extroverted, detail and team oriented
The Ideal Candidate will also have the following:
Experience with lake/pond management
