Temporary live-in couple sought to assist with the smooth running of a Holiday home in West Cork from April 2025 – April 2026.  Though the preference is for a couple with relevant experience, an entry level couple with the necessary aptitude will be considered.  Other staff work on the Estate.  Might suit a travelling couple from Australia or New Zealand looking for a short term work experience contract.

 

Duties include

 

All aspects of general housekeeping – cleaning, dusting, mopping and hoovering

Laundry and ironing

Changing bed linen

Grocery shopping

Daily cooking (by arrangement with the family)

Running errands, collecting and dropping guests to the airport

Assisting with two additional properties on the Estate plus a Boat House

Gardening, keeping clean court yards and terraces

Cleaning cars and buggies

Motivated and able to spot what needs doing

Organisation and time management skills

An interest in boats and the water

Cleaning the boat house

Working with the head gardener

Preparing the house for family visits and guests

Attention to detail

Description:  Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska is looking for a couple of energetic people to be our port managers in Hoonah, Alaska for the 2025 Summer Cruise Season. This is a seasonal/full time position. The lead manager will be paid a salary for the entire year (12 months) but only need to be on site for approximately 7 months (April-Mid October), they are then free to leave but will still receive a monthly salary. The lead position will also include a very substantial Health Insurance program as well as retirement benefits. The lead manager is on call 24-7 for the time they are in Hoonah.

The secondary Manager will be paid $25 per hour plus overtime for hours worked, (minimum would be 40 hours per week.

Housing: Housing is included at no cost

Internet: Included at no cost.

Transportation: Included at no cost.

Airfare to and from Hoonah: We pay airfare from your current residency to Hoonah and return at the end of the season.

Job Description: Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska takes care of the large cruise ships that come to Alaska in the summer months. Our local Managers are responsible for filing the arrival and departure notices with U.S.Customs and Border Protection. Arranging for docking of the ship with the dock owner. Taking care of any problem that might arise while the ship is in port. You will need to send daily email messages to ships and other stakeholders. We do not expect the successful candidate to have this knowledge but be willing to learn.

Successful Candidate should have the following qualifications.

We are looking for a fun, hard-working couple to help us with maintenance and housekeeping at our wonderful family-friendly resort on crystal clear North Long Lake from end of April to early October 2025. Due to the fluid nature of a resort, flexibility is a must - hours are varied (approx 30-35 week), but Saturdays are mandatory June, July and August. Maintenance duties include, but not limited to, mowing, weed whacking, launching of customer and rental boats, general cabin-mower-boat maintenance, help installing and removal of docking system, pumping gas, light construction, cleaning fire pits and cleaning grills.

Housekeeping duties include, but not limited to, cleaning cabins, game room, bathrooms, pool area, cabin opening and closing duties.  This position requires the ability to perform physical labor and climb the occasional ladder.

MATRIX Camps and Logistics is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Sustainable Project Management couple to live at, and enhance, a beautiful off-grid 374-acre private property (not a lodge) located on the Fraser River, near McBride, BC.

As project managers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the development of our property. We are looking for a couple that has the skill sets, attitude and aptitude to help restore the property to its former glory and to make it a self sustainable enterprise. You must be capable, hard-working, and are looking for an opportunity to make positive improvements, while enjoying living in a beautiful, remote setting. The property offers excellent fishing, hunting and outdoor experiences. It was once a thriving organic farm that has been inactive for the last four years. The goal is to replant fields for hay, develop an organic garden, enhance a small fruit tree orchard, plant herbs and forage, as well as longer term look to establish run of river power generation, and develop the capacity to harvest and sell hay and firewood.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of the property and facilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of all grounds, including landscaping and snow removal.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines in all maintenance and caretaking activities.
  • Conduct property improvements, gardens, orchard, hay fields, fencing, abandoned vehicles, outbuildings, will all need considerable attention.
  • Conduct general repairs and maintenance tasks, such as plumbing and electrical work.
  • Coordinate with the owner for larger maintenance projects and services.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of supplies and equipment. Report any significant issues to the Property owner promptly.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in carpentry, plumbing and basic electrical are strong assets.
  • Previous experience in operating farm tractors, skid steers, ATV's and snowmobiles is required.
  • Previous experience in safely operating chain saws and processing firewood is required.
  • Must be able to work independently and safely.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and outdoor work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications:

Previous Experience in remote property maintenance or facilities management is required.

Must have the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

Must be able to successfully complete a criminal records check.

The couple must have good common sense for living in an off-grid remote property environment. 

They must be capable of performing the duties required and be mechanically inclined for basic required maintenance purposes.

Applicants must be clean living with no drug or alcohol abuse concerns.

On site housing, and all utilities, including Star Link Wi-Fi will be provided.

Salary: Depends on experience, but will be a flat Monthly salary with the opportunity for additional day rate compensation for completing specific projects, over and above the Monthly salary.
