Work Camper position is for trade of 28 hours per week, which is four 7 hour shifts per week and these shifts can be divided in any combination for Work camper couples. Compensation is for your accommodations which include a full hookup site including utilities, propane deliveries, laundry, and a 10% General Store discount, but does NOT include pay. Additionally, Top of the Hill RV Resort pays a $250.00 bonus for committing to and completing a full year of service (one bonus for one year of 28 hours of weekly service being completed).

The Board of Directors is currently seeking a Camp Host /Site Managers for Leonard Knight's Salvation Mountain.
We are seeking a couple who can provide immediate live-in assistance at the Salvation Mountain site at Slab City, California.
We require candidates who can live at the site full time. During the summer months, active work on the Mountain cannot be done due to the high temperature. Summer duties include security, light maintenance and hosting visitor traffic and filming crews. Ongoing work includes working with the Directors to organize work parties for upkeep and repair of the Monument in Leonard Knight's footsteps, co-ordinating film crews, teaching docents about the Mountain.
There is a stipend for compensation and some on-site amenities for these duties, but it is truly "roughing it" (No on site utilities, water is delivered to an onsite tank for use, some solar and internet access is provided on-site, toilets are self contained). Having your own self contained living quarters is best (i.e. an RV), but we do have accomodation if required. There are nearby sanitation sites.
The successful candidates will be U.S. residents, have an interest in art and preservation, be bondable, agree to submit to a background check (credit & criminal), and be accountable to the Board of Directors.
This is a contract position and requires an IRS W-9 to be completed, and Form 1099 will be issued at the end of the year. Please share this with anyone you think might be interested.

Our residents, many of them in their 80s and 90s, have been taking care of others their whole life, but now it's their turn to be cared for. They can let someone else do the cooking, the cleaning, the mowing, even the driving, and focus on the things that make them happy. Not surprisingly, this opportunity isn't for everyone.
