Maintenance/Cleaning Couple for small AirBNB/Farm in Linville Gorge Wilderness of NC

Maintenance Position: All-Around Property Maintenance and AirBNBRental Cleaning/Maintenance, Pet Sitting
The Teamworker(s) who join us should love the outdoors/animals and enjoy physical activities/labor. Be detail oriented, self-starter, honest, reliable and be genuinely friendly/happy to be experiencing this life. In exchange for pay/trade of newly finished small Apartment you can work and play in the gorgeous Linville Gorge Wildnerness, exploring Pisgah Nat'l Forest and the Greater Lake James Area of NW NC! We are centrally located between Hickory and Asheville NC. Near the towns of Morganton and Marion NC to our east/west and Rutherfordton and Boone to our south and north. If you enjoy hiking, climbing, water sports, kayaking etc then this is your playground!
Responsibilities and Duties: (please note that this is just a general list…not everything can be done within all time limits – its just to give a basic idea of the things/jobs we will ask of you to help with)
- Cleaning the rentals in between guests (approx 8 switch outs per month per rental) *This is our most important need and want someone dedicated to DETAIL and superiour cleaning as our business relies on glowing reviews for the rentals! *
- Maintaining the Laundry for rentals (part of cleaning), keeping linens washed, clean and stored
- Maintenance of rentals/bulidings/property (landscaping, weeding, minor repairs etc)
- Be available for guests if needed on your work days
(ex: if they can't get wifi to work or lock themselves out, or have a leaking sink etc) - Weed Eating of the property (rentals, buildings, fence lines, garden-fruit bushes etc)
- Mowing all yards and areas on the property (including the small cow pasture when needed)
- Maintain landscaping at rentals, barns and general property (weeding, mulching, watering plants/flowers etc)
- Maintain trails throughout property forests
- Take all trash cans weekly to the local dump
- Cut up downed trees in the forests and off fence lines
- Cut up, split, stack firewood as needed
- Assist with fun projects to improve overall guests experiences (bring your own ideas too–tree elfs in the woods, picnic areas on property, build decks, swings, woodland seats in the forest etc.)
- Assist with projects on the property (new or remodel construction as we have funds - to improve our place)
- Care of Animals on the farm; lock chickens up at night, gather eggs, check cows etc
- Pet Sitting of 2 dogs and 3 cats (just love on them, feed, water, let out to potty etc)
Pay - $2400/month in trade/pay as lined out below
$1200 Trade Value for your Efficiency Apartment (it has kitchenette, bathroom and combined living/bedroom area..Utilities and wifi included.
$1200 Pay with a 1099
**you can potentially be paid extra if funds allow and we have additional cleanings/switch outs or projects that take you over hours - pay would be $15/hr
Schedule for the trade/pay
40 hrs worked in exchange for the pay/trade above - that can be divided between a couple if you wish but the cleaning of rentals is paramount.
You would be requested to work on the property Wed-Sun (I work weekends as a nurse so you must work all weekends) Mon-Tues are the days I can give you off, typically Sun evening through Weds Morning you can have off, we try to be flexible. On occasion you may have to do a rental cleaning on Mon/Tues if there is a switchout however, Fri/Sun are our most common switch out days.
Qualifications:
- Knowledged and experience of cleaning rentals and all that involves
- Chainsaws, skill saws, all sorts of small saws haha – mowers (push and riding) etc
- Weed Eaters (all levels from small battery to full on gas with a blade)
- Be willing to hand weed the flower beds and care for flowers, plant, water etc
- Be flexible when asked to change your daily job based on needs of the day (we strive for a schedule but being a farm with rentals, things can change a lot or frequently so flexibility is key.
- Be physically capable of the above required needs to fulfil this position
- Be friendly and professional as the guests are present and on-farm a lot
- Love and enjoy animals is a must
Your Time
On your days off you can explore and enjoy a VERY beautiful and diverse area of NW-NC. And even on the days you are working....once you are done with cleanings/chores and the hours are in....you can venture about to explore the nearby areas (but we do ask you stay within an hour or so and within signal of the property in case of emergencies or needs of the guests, which is very rare).

Vineyards are located on the Trinity River, inland from the Redwood Coast in Humboldt County, California.
There are 15 acres of Organic Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and some Italian Varieties. Along with a couple acres of olive trees. You would get a chance to learn and work with grape vines.
Tasks would consist of prun, tying the canes on the fruit wire, shoot thinning, suckering, positioning the catch wires, irrigation and picking and more.
This is a great opportunity to learn about Viticulture! Our wines are all organic containing no sulfites or filtering. 25+ yrs of production.
Things to enjoy on your time off include great river beaches within walking distance, redwood forest hikes, nearby coastal towns, beaches and forests. A reliable transit system is available.
Couples are preferred. Looking for long term workers/caretakers. Must pose strong work ethics, attention to detail and follow instruction.
Current projects: We are getting ready and preparing for harvest! Also training new vines, 2 yrs old.

- Live on premises at all times and provide a pleasant environment for family guests.
- Maintain grounds, four (4) houses, storage buildings, barn, pool, pavilion and Caretaker Residence.
- Houses must be maintained in “ready” status at all times. This includes keeping all residences in immaculate condition to include bed linens, towels, bathrooms, kitchens, floors, windows, etc. There will be a minimum of three (3) days between family/guest visits to allow time for cleaning between groups.
- Prepare, cook and clean up three meals a day when guests are present. Meal planning will be done in advance of guest arrival. Maintain records on guests to include number of guests, number of bedrooms used, etc.
- Fertilize, water and mow all landscaped areas in compound and maintain all plants, shrubs, etc. in surrounding areas to include pool house area, pump house area, propane tank area and the area around the entrance walls. Mow and/or trim fence lines and pastures as needed to maintain a clean, organized look. Trim low hanging branches as needed. Trim trees as needed on all ranch roads to maintain safe passage by vehicles. Mow and keep open all ranch roads and fence lines. Prepare burn lines as needed for controlled burns.
- Check water wells, fencing and water crossings regularly.
- Check and maintain all air conditioning/heating units, electrical, plumbing and septic tanks as required.
- Repair, sand and paint interior/exterior areas as needed.
- Maintain swimming pool and equipment.
- Keep grass mowed in pecan orchard and other pastures and areas as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise all outside contract work as directed.
- Maintain all vehicles and equipment in good running order. This includes maintaining oil changes, tire rotation, etc. for the Ranch Truck as well as maintaining the mileage log. Oil changes and maintenance on the tractor, mowers, etc. is to be completed by the Caretakers and records kept of same.
- Inspect perimeter fences and gates at least once a week and check for trespassers. Repair fences as needed. Maintain tight security at all gates.
Complete all other assignments as directed by the President or Manager
North Florida Camp Hosts Position open for 2023/2024 - Old Town, FL

Our campground is a beautiful, nature-based park. We are a quiet rustic 70-site campground. Located just outside of Old Town, roughly 45 minutes from Gainesville and 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. It is a great place to enjoy nature and a sky full of stars.
We are looking for retired couples to work in exchange for an FHU site, all utilities including cable TV, high-speed Wifi, and free on-site laundry.
You must be willing to work and get along with other camp hosts.
We like to promote a “team” atmosphere. Jobs/tasks include but are not limited to housekeeping, landscaping, office work, maintenance, and helping with activities at the clubhouse.
You would have a rotating schedule, 2 days on 4 days off in exchange for a site. We do expect you to pitch in on busy days or when special projects arise. We do not offer paid compensation.

We are interviewing for our 17 acre organic tropical fruit farm located 2,000 ft up the west side of Haleakala in lower Kula, on the island of Maui. We grow a variety of exotic fruits including avocados, mangos, citrus, lychee, ulu, chocolate sapote, bananas, soursop, macadamia, Pili and Kukui nuts.
In addition to the fruits, we have 15 hyline chickens who produce beautiful brown eggs. We just started a herd of 8 dairy goats. As well as our sweet German shepherd, Rita. All our animals are our loved pets as well as providing food for us.
Looking for ethically responsible, respectful, self-reliant, couple/workers who enjoy farm life and work. Individuals must be able and enjoy hard work. Need to be healthy and fit. The farmwork is varied and includes weeding, irrigation, harvesting, pruning, mowing and tilling. Ideally workers have some farming experience in some sort of landscaping/agriculture, but if not, then the ability to work, willingness to learn and follow instructions have been enough to make it possible to train people on our various equipment: zero turn mower or ride-on mower, weed whackers, chainsaws, pruning shears, stake pounders, PVC/drip line work, fence repair, any construction or fix-it skills.
Additionally, I'd like to mention the housing. There's a full-size yurt with a detached full kitchen and a full bath, all equipped with furniture. The housing is very private.
Pay dependent on skill level. This is not a caretaker situation. We're looking for hard workers.

Salary Package
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary package per year to start (depending on the cost of living in the area where are placed) for our Resident Management Team. However, each person will be paid their own indivdually portion of the salary. To be decided upon interview.
Accommodation:
As this is a live-in position, the accommodation provided is a one bedroom, one-bathroom apartment .In addition to the apartment benefit, the Resident Managers are also provided with all utilities paid including basic cable, and parking.
Schedule:
Our Resident managers work along with other staff members on a rotating schedule. To be decided during interview
Training:
Complete, hands-on training is provided for Resident Management Team, however, previous experience in a similar role is an asset. People management experience is preferred.
Overall Job Purpose:
Our Resident Manager Team (Team must consist of two persons) will work together with other staff members to ensure that we provide total guest satisfaction.
Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements:
· Be able to work as part of a team with the owners to provide a great Hotel/ Motel and a safe and motivating work atmosphere for our staff
· Support the staff in the day-to-day operations of the Hotel/Motel
