Couple Team groundeskeeper / companion caregiver - Roseburg, OR

Companion type caregiver to an active 79 year old; Dad is memory impaired but not confused, but he can't remember to turn off the hose, stay on task to mow the entire lawn with the lawn tractor etc.  He does NOT need help eating, bathing or shaving at this point.  He loves to talk, do little projects, take walks and read.  Especially to talk. 

Location: Camas Valley Oregon in a peaceful country home with apartment downstairs.

•   Driving: driving dad to and from the family business to see mom and to appointments if needed.

•   Groundskeeper:

?                     Mow the grounds primarily with sit down mower and use other tools edger or weed whacker etc. to keep it neat

?                     Trim shrubs and weed and tend garden/grounds 

?                     Tend (plant, water, weed, harvest and pest control the organic garden on site

?                     Trim fruit trees around the house

?                     Help with grounds keeping in off site areas a few hours per week when NOT watching dad.  Family has two venues in town that they need a little help keeping grounds up.  Mostly mowing with sit-down mower and some shrub trimming / weeding.

•   Light housekeeping.

•   Tend the buildings if minor maintenance needed (change lightbulbs, clean cobwebs).  No major maintenance or painting required.

•   Keep tools and items neat and put away in sheds

•   Tend the solar / generator system (they're also on the grid but have a system (e.g. battery level checks, routine propane generator testing).

•   Additional work possible by arrangement.  MUST have car and abilty to live and work in the US and pass background check.

•   Reimbursement is salary based, for an estimated 8 - 10 hrs per day of service for 5 - 6 days per week.  Evening and early morning service and evening service not presently needed.  Includes housing and utilities in exchange for emergency availability.

We have developed the most unique Mom and Pop restaurant / ministry outreach in the United States located across the street from the entrance to a wild animal park.

Malcolm Knapp Research Forest Caretakers - Maple Ridge, BC

UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest is seeking an energetic, organized, and self-directed couple with a positive attitude.  The couple will maintain the caretaker’s residence on-site at Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, as well as complete light renovation work on the caretaker house. The caretaker is responsible for being on-site during non-office hours (before 8am and after 4pm weekdays; all weekends and stats) and for maintaining a security presence at the main entrance where the caretaker residence is situated.

This position is for the University of British Columbia’s Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The caretaker house is a 1250 sq. foot, 3 bedroom 1 bath home built in the 1960’s.  One onsite parking garage/storage garage is also included.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

·         Maintain caretaker home and perform light renovation work

·         Provide security during all non-office hours

·         Perform all required grounds keeping duties around the caretaker house

Requirements:
