The Spiritual Wilderness Solitude (SWS), a small spiritual retreat center, seeks a couple interested in serving as a residential retreat center coordinator and caretaker. The preferred candidates will reside on the 170-acre wooded property in Jarratt, Virginia (about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Washingto,DC) providing oversight for the Retreat Center Operations, Fund Raising, Guest /Client Relations, Outreach and Marketing, General Facilities Cleaning and Maintenance (With Grounds Contractors), Asset and Inventory Management, Reservations Management, Bookkeeping and Accounting and Facilitation of Spiritual Activities and Events for a new non-denominational Christian church located on the grounds.

Weekly spiritual activities include Sunday morning prayer service and Wednesday evening Bible Study. A college degree is required, in addition to excellent communication skills, event marketing and management and computer skills. Experience in event coordination, hospitality and ministry are preferred. Seeking well-qualified domestic service couple to provide a high quality lifestyle to two busy corporate executives, in their South Denver, CO home.

Position Description

This unique opportunity requires the couple to be committed to a long-term assignment. 

• Both individuals must pass clearance of criminal, MVR, I-9, credit and employment background check. 
• Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
• Must sign an employment/salary agreement.
• Both must hold a valid CO Driver’s License, with no DUI or DWAI in any driving history.
• Must live on property.  Employer provides newly built, fully furnished, 1,200 square foot apartment on lower level with separate private entrance, with washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator w/icemaker, 1 bedroom w/bed, 1 bath.  All utilities, cable and internet access paid.

• Provide a variety of household tasks from food preparation, pre and post party cleaning, special errands, shopping, service/serving food/beverages to guests for workweek and weekend entertaining, housekeeping duties, laundry, and deep cleaning projects.
• Provide on property security checks, and monitor the property.

Innkeepers Needed at Coastal Oregon Motel - Florence, OR

ON-SITE MANAGEMENT TEAM needed at medium-sized, independent coastal lodging facility.  Position to begin March/April 2015. 

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

·         Responsible for all front office duties including checking guests in and out, processing payments by cash or credit card, answering phones, making reservations and giving directions or information about local services and attractions

·         Provide outstanding customer service, present yourselves in a professional manner; handle all duties with enthusiasm, a personable attitude and a welcoming smile.

·         Prepare and maintaining the beverage station, keep the interior common areas clean and well-kept,

·         Reconcile daily hotel records, prepare occupancy reports, bank deposits, track and order inventory and supplies.

·         Prepare and submit reports as requested by the owners

·         Frequent interaction with third parties (Expedia, Hotels.com), including resolving occupancy, cancellation issues, room inventory and descriptions, invoicing and monitoring and responding to guest reviews.

·         Hire and dismiss employees and maintain scheduling, labor hours, and workflow. 

·         Oversee the housekeeping staff, perform room inspections, assist with deep cleaning, and provide backup help when there are staff shortages.

·         Run errands including post office and bank, picking up supplies and other associated off-site tasks as necessary

·         Represent the business at industry meetings (Travel Oregon, Chamber of Commerce), etc., regularly visit local festivals, shops and restaurants, network with other lodging and service providers in the area, be the “face” of the business and represent the property in a professional manner.

·         Perform basic groundskeeping and building maintenance such as mowing, tending gardens, trash removal, completing minor plumbing, carpentry, caulking, painting and electrical work orders. .

·         Ensure the safety of the property, employees, and guests, and ensure safety procedures are in place

·         Generate maintenance work orders and coordinate repair/maintenance work in units

·         Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE, Both persons must be able to do customer service, housekeeping, laundry, bed linen changes, and maintain interior and exterior of property.  Between the two team members, the following requirements are necessary:

• A minimum of one year stable management history in Hotel/Motel/Restaurant Management
• Demonstrable skills in customer satisfaction
• Understanding of facilities management and maintenance
• Computer proficiency, including Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
• Experience with online reservations and PMS systems
• A positive attitude and professional appearance at all times in the presence of guests. 
• Ability and willingness to utilize social networking (facebook, twitter, e-mail) to market the property.
• Demonstrable writing skills including proper spelling, grammar and basic business communications.

Preferred Housekeeper/Cook skills:  Ability to maintain a large house, used primarily by an older woman, year round. Responsible for general indoor cleaning and care of fine furniture, as well as laundry and making beds. Good cooking skills, with flexibility in timing and menu. Grocery & other shopping as needed.
