We are seeking a full time, permanent couple to manage a guest ranch/resort. The position includes on-site living and utilities at no charge.
We are a rustic, multi-faceted resort with 26 cabin rentals, RV spaces, full service restaurant, large gift shop, guided horseback riding, Jeep rentals and raft rentals. Our ranch/resort is located along the Rio Grande River, which provides many recreational opportunities for both staff and guests and we are located near the Weminuche Wilderness area.
Management position will require managment of staff and services for all areas of operation including our "workcamping" program which utilizes approximately 15 couples who work two days per week in exchange for their RV site. . In addition to our workcampers, the resort employs approximately 20 people each season for efficient operations.
Management position will also require performance or facilitation of all property maintenance
Managing couple must be hard-working and dependable. Prefer couple who have experience in management of hospitality, food service and retail industries. Also prefer applicants with property managment and maintenance experience. The resort is "seasonal" operating from May 1st through November each year, however, the management position will be year-round.

Fishing and Hunting Resort Caretaker(s) - Jacobsburg, OH

Looking for a reliable and personable couple or individual to care for a rural fishing and hunting property: 2 rental cabins with 2 lakes and streams on 110 acres. Guests come for a day of fishing on the lakes or can stay for as long as a week in the cabins. This is the perfect opportunity for a retired couple trying to find their cabin in the woods!
Duties include equipment and building maintenance, mowing, rental cabin preparation and cleaning. Greet, orient and support renters through rental season; provide security during off season. Strong communication skills required for interaction with renters. Self-starting and organizational skills required for project management. The property is isolated, with exquisite scenery and abundant wildlife.
Position is available beginning March 2017 - with a 12 month minimum committment.
DUTIES
- Act as on-site host for renters: greet and orient renters, check them in and out, and orient them with the property.
- Cabin preparation, cleaning and turnaround.
- Mowing of grass according to plan.
- Equipment maintenance (mechanical, motorized, water system).
- Cleaning of boats and charging of boat batteries.
- Keeping a careful eye on the property, on buildings and their security, and on roads, water systems and ponds. Routine building checks during winter.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong skills in maintenance and repair work, carpentry, plumbing, mechanics.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in fishing and hunting.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- A cell phone.
COMPENSATION

Housing is provided in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin with wood burning stove and walk in closet.
- Brand new kitchen in cabin comes equipped with stove, fridge, central air.
- All utilities are paid for.

What we are looking for in a couple:
1 of you MUST be a very experienced rider with a good knowledge of western riding (and be able to provide riding lessons to beginners).The experienced horse person should also have basic knowledge of horse healthcare and be as well-skilled in horsemanship (on the ground horse work) as they are in the saddle. The other should have some experience or be willing to learn fast
1 of you must love the kitchen and cooking up meals for up to 15 people ~ with knowledge of menu planning and costing. You will be responsible for prepping and hosting nightly dinners.
You both can drive a ‘manual shift’ vehicle. General responsibilities including daily errands to town and pick up and delivery of guests.
Candidate(s) should have intermediate or higher level Spanish, be very comfortable in nature, and be interested in exploring a sustainable, off-grid lifestyle.
You are well traveled and comfortable living in a foreign culture. Ideally this is not your first time to Central America.
You enjoy photography and are willing to photograph our tours and do post editing of the images.
Generally:
The ranch is located 20 minutes from the surf beach town of San Juan del Sur. Couple will be required to lead horseback rides and host guests at the Ranch in addition to some administration work. Hours are by no means fixed. Board, laundry service, cell phone, accommodation and access to transport are included as well as a basic stipend after completion of training.
This is a great opportunity for a couple who is interested in gaining valuable experience in ecotourism and like the idea of living abroad in Nicaragua.
