Live-In Caretaker/Domestic Couple Wanted ASAP - Oak Creek , CO
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
The couple would be responsible for maintaining the ranch owner's house, two guest cabins, a small lodge and the adjoining landscaping. One person would perform the role of building and grounds maintenance, general handyman work and concierge services; the other person would do moderate housekeeping and all the major cooking for the family of the estate as well as any guests. The couple would need to keep the buildings and grounds in impeccable condition and prepare healthy meals. Most meals are standard fare, but occasionally the owners would like a gourmet quality meal prepared. Other duties would include, but are not limited to the following:
- Grocery shopping
- Running errands
- Moderate housekeeping
- Airport pick up/drop off
- Pet care
- Serving food and drinks
The current schedule is FT for the couple from April 15-October 15 and then PT during the winter months. During the winter months the owners typically have family visiting over Christmas and other holidays so the couple would need to be flexible to work at these times. When the clients and their guests are not in residence the hours are 40-45 every week M-F. However, when the clients or guests are in residence during the winter months, they would need daily cooking and concierge services by the couple. This is typically six-week total spread out between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Ideally, the couple will learn how to take ownership of this position and make it their own without being told how or what to do. They would work directly under the ranch managers and the other staff includes another FT assistant ranch manager couple and two season ranch hands. The ranch staff all works as a team and the owners and other staff are all treated like a family and take pride in a job well done. It's crucial that the caretaker couple have a great attitude, works well with others and has a strong work ethic with the flexibility to work until the job gets done.
The caretaker's home is over the horse barn, fully furnished and very nice. It's a two bedroom two bath with 1200 sq ft, a full kitchen, dining room and family room. Currently, the owners are adding an additional 500 sq ft of storage and living space for the caretakers. Caretaker's can have small well-behaved pets and must be able to commit long-term. The ranch is privately owned on approximately 10k acres with a commercial cattle business. There is also a small heard of Bison and a hunting program.
For couple's that enjoy the outdoors, a little seclusion, beautiful surroundings and being physically active, this could be your dream job! The owners use the ranch as a private retreat and treat their staff very well. There is over 75 miles of trails used for jeep tours, snowmobiling, horseback riding and much more. This position is for caretakers who are in excellent physical condition and who enjoy this lifestyle. We will be interviewing experienced caretaker couples who have filled out the Deborah Calkin Agency's Domestic Applications immediately.
