WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

We are a domestic recruiting agency and one of our favorite clients (prior Domestic Couple was there for 20 years), is seeking a couple to manage and maintain a beautiful second home.  Owners visit the residence throughout the year plus additional family members will also come/go throughout the year as well.  When owners are in residence, they expect a six-day workweek with Sunday off.

Initial interviews will be conducted via video, then an in-person and a visit to the property.

 

While Owners are in residence:

  • Full charge daily housekeeping (meticulous and detail oriented)
  • Laundry and ironing (clothing and linens)
  • Prepare all meals (must be a good cook prefer chef trained)
  • Ability to execute dinner party, family entertains often
  • Ability to serve meals and prepare multiple courses
  • Grocery and household shopping
  • Errands as required
  • Keep an organized list of items running low for repurchase
  • Organization
  • Drive Employer if required (to/from airport and other appointments as needed)
  • Maintain Employers vehicles clean and fueled
  • All year round
  • Check the property to for any repairs needed (20 acres)
  • Walk exterior and interior of residence daily
  • Maintain the livable area ½ - 1 acre
  • Maintain all gardens, including vegetable garden
  • Maintain outdoor fountain (cleanliness)
  • Maintain all outdoor furniture winterize  (cover/uncover)
  • Mow lawn in spring/summer (riding lawn mower)
  • Snow removal in Winters (plow service must be notified when needed) you are responsible the walkway leading to the house
  • Recognize when large repairs need to be performed and advise Employers and or Contactor
  • Maintain a current list of Vendors in the area
  • Supervise all vendors that enter property
  • Ability to do light maintenance of interiors/exteriors as needed for 10K square foot residence

 Provisions:

  • Furnished 2-bedroom 1 bath private apartment provided
  • Utilities, Cable TV and internet provided
  • Automobile provided for work related driving
  • Two weeks annual paid vacation (to be approved in advance)
  • Salary DOE
  • Food Allowance
  • Health Insurance (medical/dental/vision)

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years reference in similar role
  • Must have worked as a couple previously
  • Good command of the English language (verbal and written)
  • Familiar with all current IT and technology in order to set up and trouble shoot
  • Be able to pass a thorough background check
  • Must be drug free
  • No small children or pets

Ever dreamed of spending your days in a quaint Coastal Town, mingling with local visitors, whipping up French toast and running a Bed and Breakfast? Our Inn is located in a charming Coastal Town in Rhode Island with fantastic beaches and prides itself on being a warm home away-from-home for adult guests of all backgrounds and cultural diversity. Our property is over two acres of Tuscany villa bliss, encompassing a pool, hot tub, koi pond, and garden and hosts guests across our eight suites.

 

We are looking for a couple to manage our B&B who are passionate about guest experiences, both on property and in the surrounding community and who will make guests feel welcome, cared for, and excited to return to the Rhode Island community for many years to come. Given the size of the property and its multiple areas for hosting, we would like innkeepers who have a successful history of not only providing unique and thoughtful guest experiences but also managing events on site. The Innkeepers must be able and willing to manage and execute all aspects of Inn management and to oversee support staff who will assist the innkeepers with ongoing maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities. Responsibilities

    • On-site presence at the Inn for greeting guests and visitors.
    • Creating an environment where guests feel welcome and cared for
    • Responding to guest needs and acting as an onsite concierge to assist with the guest experience.
  • Managing all aspects of the reservations process, including Guest Check-in and Check-out
  • Preparing and serving breakfast and assisting with or supervising cleanup
    • Identifying opportunities for additional bookings as well as guest experiences
    • Partnering with local organizations, businesses, and wedding vendors to increase bookings.
    • Verifying and assisting with overall cleanliness and maintenance of all areas of the Inn to ensure a positive guest experience.
    • Managing and monitoring housekeeping tasks, and when needed, stepping in to assist where needed. 
    • Identifying opportunities for additional bookings as well as guest experiences
    • Partnering with local organizations, businesses, and wedding vendors to increase bookings.

 

Requirements

  • Relationship management skills, collaborative and open to feedback
  • Initiative-taking and target driven with a proven track record in sales and customer engagement.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in a hospitality business or possess transferable skills that align to Innkeeping.
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Office and technologically proficient at operating software platforms (navigate check-ins, communicate with guests virtually, etc.)
  • Ability to build productive business and professional relationships.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create & deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs to increase events and stays.

 

Job Type: Full-time, Year-Round

 

Compensation: Compensation is based on experience. This is a live-in position where the Innkeepers will be provided onsite housing (lovely oversized, one-bedroom apartment), utilities and a food allowance.
