The International Student House, a non-profit organization in the heart of Washington, DC, provides an exceptional residential experience to a highly diverse international community of graduate students, interns, and visiting scholars. The Part-Time Staff Couple is a live-in shared position without benefits for an active retired couple wishing to supplement their income by performing assigned duties for the International Student House. Flexibility is required in assigned duties along with the ability to lift 30lbs, carry boxes and trays, and walk steps. The couple will adhere to all policies and procedures for the health, safety, and security of the International Student House staff and residents. They are responsible to assist in the day-to-day operations of the House, programs, and events. The Part Time Residential Staff Couple report directly to the Resident Managers. The couple position requires a 1 year commitment starting in August of 2011.

The shared duties will include: 

• On duty two weekends a month
• On duty when Resident Managers are away from the House
• House and Resident event management when needed
• One member of the couple will work 4 days a week 5hrs a day on administrative duties
• Availability as needed with reasonable notice

Compensation:

• A stipend of $1,000 a month
• On site 1 bedroom 1 bath living quarters with kitchenette, basic cable, internet, and local phone service.
• One Parking Space
• 13 meals per week
• Two weeks vacation

Duties include grounds maintenance for cleared areas, pineapples, banana trees, various other plants, care for dog and cat.

Also need a host/shuttle driver 24 hours in exchange for site, $7.25 if any extra hours available.

Innkeeper Assistant/Handyperson Couple - Black Hills, SD

Help! We have an 8 room bed & breakfast, a small neighborhood grill/bar and a few acres it all sits on!  We are in the Black Hills of South Dakota, just outside Rapid City.  Need one more workamping couple to share the workload ASAP until the end of September-ish.

  Need help in a variety of areas which includes help maintaining the B&B rooms/yard, etc., housekeeping, breakfast cleanup (we do have a commercial dishwasher), poss food prep, miscellaneous handyman/handywoman stuff as issues present themselves, some yard work/upkeep and preparing the restaurant area before opening (takes about an hour). We will exchange FHU, 1/2 price meals in the restaurant, occasional breakfast, VIP tickets which get you into many attractions either at a discount or free, for 15 hours total of work per week.  If you work more than 15 hours in a week's time, we pay a check of $8 per hour. Of course the amount of hours you would work depends on how busy we are so we estimate an average of a couple working about 15-30 hours per week and of course the rest of the time is for you to explore this beautiful area.

Must have own RV and live on-site.  Full time year around (non seasonal) position preferred. Office skills include computer and reservation experience, bookkeeping, register and store inventory/sales.  Maintenance skills and knowledge of irrigation/sprinkler systems and general landscape, electrical, plumbing, pool maintenance and grounds keeping.  Our GS rating must be maintained.
