Live-In Caregivers in Santa Fe, New Mexico for elderly couple available NOW - Santa Fe, NM
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
We are in search for a wonderful couple with eldercare experience for a couple with dementia in their late 80’s. The couple will live in the same home with the couple with their own private master bedroom and bathroom. The house is completely private and it’s attached to the couple’s daughter and husband’s home in which the caregivers will also have full access to. The daughter is looking for a couple who can work 6 days a week with a 3 hour break every night from 6-9pm when she makes dinner for her mother and father. The caregivers are welcome to have dinner with them as well or take the time off to themselves.
The schedule varies daily but would typically start when the elderly man wakes up around 8:30am and end after they have help going to bed around 9pm. The caregivers would work closely with the daughter and her husband but would have complete privacy as the daughter and her husband would like the same thing as well. The daughter is willing to work with anyone who they think would be a great fit for their parents and would like a trial period of training to start ASAP on weekends as they currently have a FT caregiver during the week. The caregivers don’t need to both be there during the time the elderly couple is awake, but ideally the couple would mostly be there. This is ideal for a couple who doesn’t have any other job commitments or can work remotely from their home.
Small pets are welcome and the caregivers will need to have their own 4-door vehicle as that will be the easiest way to transport the elderly couple. The start date after 1-2 weekend trial periods would be Jan 1, 2015. The caregivers would have all utilities, Internet, cable, cell phones and food (from the daughter’s home) covered along with vacation benefits.
Job duties will include: limited driving to appointments, helping transfer the elderly couple around the home as they can’t walk alone, bathing the couple, making sure meds are being taken, care for incontinence, feeding the couple and companionship. There is limited or no cooking for the elderly couple and the daughter and her husband can be flexible to help if needed. The daughter and her husband will make sure the caregivers aren’t over worked or get burnt out so they are willing to do whatever it takes to have the right couple stay long-term. For those interested from out of state the daughter and her husband would like to start with a Skype interview which we will set up but they need to be willing to pay for their trip to Santa Fe and the daughter can pay for their accommodations during the trial period.
