Stony Manor is a magnificent, 1920’s stone mansion, built as single-family estate. The original family fell into hard times and abandoned the property in the early 1970’s. A very talented developer bought the estate and converted it into six condos.
Stony Manor Condominium Association, made up of six owners (three of whom are full-time year-round residents, three of whom use the property as a second home) is seeking a live-in caretaker.
The caretaker’s apartment is a one-bedroom, one-bath, full kitchen, six room unit that has access to the entire estate which includes such amenities as an indoor year-round heated swimming pool, sauna, fitness room, free laundry (just 30 steps from the caretaker apartment), billiard room, a caretaker garage for a vehicle and equipment storage, private patio for summer entertaining with BBQ, Casco Bay (Atlantic Ocean) water access for a kayak, or other boat. The apartment includes free heat and hot water and has a market rental value of $1500 per month.
The position is very flexible and the amount of work determines the amount of subsidy toward rent. We can envision a really good, take-charge person with many skills; mechanical, landscaping, vendor management etc. receiving a fully subsidized rent.
A single person or a couple (no children, pets or smoking) is fine. Having outside income is probably needed, as there is no stipend. The apartment is unfurnished but we could provide it furnished for the right candidate. The apartment will be completely painted to the new caretakers specifications.

Motel Caretaker (Couple) for a small 15 room Motel - Delta, BC

Summary
Reporting to the Manager, the Resident Caretaker (or Couple) is responsible for overall running and upkeep of the motel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Greeting and registering guests
Showing, renting, and assigning rooms
Managing and maintaining premises
Observing and monitoring performance
Answering questions about motel policies and services
Resolving customers complaints
Preparing reports as necessary
Inspecting premises for cleanliness and appearance
Coordinating front-office duties and resolving problems
Janitorial and Security:
Collect and dispose of any garbage
Walk the outside of the location and collect and dispose of garbage in parking lot and general common areas.
Supervise cleanup and upkeep of the rooms
Clean all lighting fixtures, Change burnt out light bulbs, Dust stairwell railings, Clean glass surfaces and common areas daily, Vacuum rugs, Mop laminate flooring areas, keep clean laundry rooms each day;
Responsible for upkeep and maintaining the Office and manager site
Responsible for cleanup of rooms when maid is not available for work.
Check fire and smoke detectors and change batteries as necessary (At least once a month)
Patrol all levels of location frequently(9am-9pm) identifying issues and contact the management as required;
Keep accurate log book of incidents in location;
Other duties as assigned
Maintenance and Landscaping:
Ensure all snow removed from walk ways and stairs twice daily as required;
Maintain grounds daily, all garbage collected and disposed of;
Inspect buildings and vacant suites daily to report on any deficiencies and maintenance requests
Attend training and meet with management; work with contractors to enter location for their work as required
Tend to minor repairs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Prior Property Management experience is an asset;
Be able to present self in a professional and integral way;
Above-average problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;
Familiarity with the motel and hospitality Act an asset;
Possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable vehicle an asset.
Handyman skills will be an asset.

This position is ideal for a retired couple. This is a "live in" position, the candidate must live on site. The selected candidate will live rent free for that period of time, however cable, hydro and gas bills will be your responsibility (based on your usage - usage is metered separately for the caretaker suite)

Part Time work camper position open for an RVing couple looking to settle down on the beautiful gulf coast of Texas. Please read all of the job descriptions.
One work camper’s duties will be in Maintenance. The spring/summer season will be the busiest time with site maintenance (mowing, weed eating, etc. which will dominate your time in the summer) plus cleaning laundry room, restrooms, showers, office and club room. We also have cottages near by that will need cleaning when people vacate. At other times, you will focus on general campground maintenance an improvement projects. Duties may include light electrical, plumbing, hedge trimming, and general maintenance of common areas. You will also be asked to assist with special events/activities. Holidays are required. This work camper must be in good health and able to work in the Texas heat and humidity.
The 2nd work camper will be primarily managing the phone... answering questions, describing amenities, and showing available sites. Other responsibilities will be to receive deposits, collect rent, electric payments and some light bookkeeping and keeping up with emails. We work from a Manual Log sheet for the RV sites and cottages. The office location is at Beacon RV Park. This work camper will also be asked to assist with special events/activities. Holidays are required. There will be at times some light housekeeping of the office,laundry room, restrooms, showers, club house and cleaning cottages.
As compensation for an average of 24 hours per week, per couple, you will receive a FHU, Large RV site at our E-Z Livin' RV Park, Small Salary of $1000.00 a month and $100.00 off your electric and free Direct TV each month. You will need to be flexible on days, and cover anytime the Managers are off or on vacation.
