Basic combined salary $75,000, plus medical benefits and profit share.
We are seeking a talented and energetic couple to manage the overall operations of a successful, profitable restaurant in beautiful Fernie BC.
The management team should consist of a fully qualified Head Chef and a Restaurant Manager with excellent knowledge of managing all aspects of restaurant operations and a team of around 10-18 staff (depending on seasonal requirements). You will be customer-focused and dedicated team leaders with the ability to efficiently operate this busy and popular 60-seat downtown restaurant.
In return you will have the opportunity to experience the mountain lifestyle in the ‘Coolest Town in North America’, known for its exceptional hiking and biking trails in the summer, and Fernie’s “legendary powder” in the winter.

Head Chef
The ideal candidate will be responsible for keeping The Loaf’s back-of-house running smoothly and efficiently, taking the lead with the kitchen staff and making decisions as needed. Your role is to help operate the restaurant in an efficient and orderly way, leading by example, demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic. Your duties include, but are not limited to:

Prepare and serve a consistently high standard of food in an organised manner in a high-pressure, busy environment;

Undertake food preparation and cooking, implementing standardised recipes and taking initiative as required;

Control supply costs and wastage within agreed targets;
-
Create schedules for BOH staff within agreed budgets;

Be in control of all aspects of the menu and kitchen systems so that you can supervise the kitchen output;
-
Plan the weekly and daily menus and order produce and supplies as required;
-
Supervise other kitchen staff, including hiring, training and overseeing their work to ensure a consistent output from the kitchen;
-
Be a great team player and have excellent communication skills;
-
Undertake weekly and monthly stock takes;
-
Ensure the kitchen, prep area and all equipment is maintained according to proper health and sanitation standards, and all areas are kept impeccably clean;
-
Receive orders and enter costs associated with kitchen purchases;
-
Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation;
-
Work within and enforce safety regulations in the workplace.
Restaurant Manager
Duties:
-
Oversee the restaurant and supervise staff in accordance with operating policies;
-
Manage the general administration of the business including day-to-day bookkeeping, ordering, scheduling and reporting to the owners;

Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff;
-
Create a positive atmosphere among team members through strong leadership and training;
-
Work with staff to ensure consistent quality and presentation, customer service and proper food-handling procedures;
-
Handle guest enquiries, comments and complaints;
-
Market and promote the restaurant;
-
Agree and maintain budgets, keep employee records, prepare payroll, pay bills, and work with the bookkeeper to complete month-end duties;
-
Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services;
-
Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, administer tips to staff;
-
Ensure compliance with licensing, hygiene and health & safety legislation / guidelines;
-
Proficient in using computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks;
-
Proficient in Point of sale (POS) software, inventory software, guest satisfaction tracking software etc.

TWO ONE-MONTH POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR SEPTEMBER (MUST START SEPTEMBER 1ST!) Possible October extention.
Project Duration: 4 weeks minimum. Minimum 24 hours per week. (3 days on, 3 days off, rotating schedule).
General Description of Duties: Thorough cleaning and routine maintenance of campground bathhouses and camp sites. Campground hosts will be required to provide public relations and general park information. Monitor activities in the campground; notify park staff when action is needed. Maintain campground facilities and sites to Florida Park Service standards set by the Park Manager. Work on special projects as designated by management.

Goal/Outcome of Job: Provide professional services to park visitors by maintaining clean and safe campsites, grills, restrooms, and walking paths.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Desired: No particular knowledge or experience required, however knowledge of the Florida Park System, and/or experience as a Camp Host is desired. Must have the abilities to follow verbal and/or visual instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion, to withstand exposure to the outdoors in Florida weather for hours at a time, and lift up to 25 lbs. Skills in maintaining clean facilities, following through with assignments, and communicating effectively to park visitor, park staff, and park management is a must. Training will be provided at orientation of specific job duties.
Special Requirements: Volunteer Uniform must be worn when on duty as per Florida Park Service Standards, which can be found in the Volunteer handbook. Minimal negative discussion amongst fellow camp hosts, visitors, and park staff that could potentially damage the reputation of the park or the Florida Park Service is required. Issues are to be resolved and discussed with park management as soon as, or if a problem arises. Must be willing to accommodate schedule changes at management’s discretion. Must follow all rules and regulations in the Florida State Park Volunteer Handbook and as discussed at orientation.

Camp Host - Grangeville, ID

We are looking for a couple to fill the following position: OFFICE POSITION: Work Schedule: 3 days on, 4 days off per week with office hours of 10:00AM 12:00PM and 1:00PM 7:00PM Duties: Duties include answering phones, making reservations, checking in/out reservations, making coffee the night before, running the store, light cleaning of restrooms and laundry facilities, washing and folding cabin linens.
Our Park is located 3⁄4 of a mile south of Grangeville, ID population 3,200. Don’t let the small size of our town fool you. The city of Grangeville has a hospital, emergency room, clinic, doctor offices, dentists, shopping, 2 grocery stores, and several restaurants and gas stations for your convenience. We are centrally located with access to Hell’s Canyon, the Salmon, Snake and Clear Water rivers for your recreational enjoyment. We have mild summers. The average high is 90 degrees and at night we cool down to the 60’s. I often need a sweater! Our busiest time of year is during Border Days, Idaho’s oldest rodeo, over the 4th of July. We have 21 full hook-up, pull-thru sites, 13 full hook-up, back-in sites and 4 camping cabins. All sites are approximately 40’ x 80’ and include large grass areas. The Bear Den has been rated in the top 300 Good Sam Parks 3 years in a row thanks to Work Campers such as you keeping our facility running smooth and our customers happy.
